David Asper wants to buy a controlling interest of the Bombers . . . would include building 100 million stadium and retail facility at current stadium site . . . will be submitting a proposal. Front page on the Free Press . . . Sun was completely scooped, has nothing.

Asper would be in it for the long term, true Bomber fan, has been involved with the community board, major player in GC planning, long time Winnipeg resident so not likely to cut and run, could be a positive thing. Might be time to take Winnipeg to the next level.

Just so long as it's not one of those "the public pays for the stadium, the public covers all losses, and Asper gets to take all the profits" deals. Just like Shenkarow and the Jets, and we all know how that turned out.
