I captured the last drive from VHS to mpeg and then uploaded to youtube so all of you can enjoy. I'll start uploading more BC Lions clips when I have time.
1994 Western Division Final Last Drive

Couple of things that were funthrough that was the out of bounds pass to Alexander where it is pointed out that he was out significantly but then it is alos mentioned that he loses the ball on contact with the ground. That same contact with the ground and loss of the football to Alexandre becomes a significant play in the GC game a week later.
Also Kepley calls out the play the Lions are going to go with on the final TD to Flutie, STamps don't do very well on that coverage.
I enjoyed that clip and wanted it added to the Great BC SPorts moments, that was a fantastic BC moment.

Entertainment value = an all time low

Kinda weird how that worked out but we got the cup and that's all that matters
For the Calgary game, one moment I remembered vividly was when Philpot made the long run and then fumbles the football. I was only 9 that time but still remember. Of course Calgary gets their FG blocked and it led to the last drive.

I am not a youtuber. On my computer the video quality was not very good. Is this normal for you tube?
I bought copy of that game from the CFL office almost right afterwards. I paid 30 or 60 for it. What a rip off. They sent me a very poor quality video that they had just copied of the tube themselves, and then made copies of. Someday I hope to get a good one

Great job Almo89... 12 years later and I still get goose bumps.
Flutie was brilliant and the Stamps don't get close to McManus the entire drive thanks to a terrific blocking up front.

Thank you Almo89. HUGE !!!!!!!!!!
Funny though..the only 3 QB's to win us a Cup since the 60's are Dewalt, McManus ( w/Austin) and Allen....and the whole time they were here everyone wanted them run out of town.

No, you have to throw it to him

Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

You got that right. It is funny. I just watched that clip and it had the same feeling as it did that day on TV.LFITQ wrote:Thank you - very nice to watch again!
But why was I biting my fingernails while watching it??? 8)
Why don't more teams do what the Lions did with their top jumper Ray Alexander in the middle who blocked the field goal that would have sunk the Lions with not enough time? Dave Ritchie should pass that to Benevides.
Rammer's right. Kepley called that play (or Danny Mac on QB draw which got me horrified again!!!) and Calgary knew one guy would get that ball.
Mightybuck.. you should get Buck to be watching that clip! I don't think Wally on the receiving end of that defeat will want to show it to him.
That clip has to be hall of fame material for MacManus and Darren Flutie.
That is a must see clip... thanks for that.
Do you recall what Doug Flutie said to Darren as they met on the field?
Doug: Was that you? (who caught the ball)
Darren: Yes.
Doug: A--hole.

Thanks for posting that, it was thrilling to watch again.
What I noticed this time was how on the earlier incompletion to Alexander (around the 5 yard line when Danny Mac threw from the left side without getting his feet properly planted) was just how close that could have been to becoming another classic Danny McManus interception. Alexander's leap prevented that from happening. As much credit as Darren Flutie gets for a couple of clutch catches, Alexander played just as big a role in that victory.
I have never been a big fan of Danny Mac because I feel he throws way too many interceptions, especially in crutial situations. Just think how different his legacy in BC would have been if that ball had been picked off to kill the game winning drive? Ask Damon Allen about how that goes!
