Yes, the sign of a champion. Whether we win or lose. It is just really hard to expect to win all 18 games. It just doesn't work that way. The teams are too close in talent. And then motivation plays a huge part, especially in a small league.

I'm not used to listening to the TV announcers. This is painful. The idiots in the booth finally realized after several minutes of chatter that the Riders were out of challenges.

all in all, a great CFL game. 3 hrs well spent. the last drive with the crowd doing their part is what it's all about for us fans. congrats Riders on this day... but it's an 18+ game season...

I sure hope the Lions can figure out their O, hasn't been very effective in any game this season. Still early in the season, lots of time to get the Lions talent working on all cylinders, but I am not sure that the ST play is going to be an easy fix. Brown didn't look like he had vision in today's game, on either ST or at the RB.

Tough day, somewhat lackluster performance, too many injured receivers...

On each time that Brown has run the ball out after a missed FG, he doesn't go outside far enough and then cut back. He has to do better, it is almost like he is playing in an NFL size field.

Jesus, you people and the refs. Just stop it already.

Special teams play was bad and was the leading culprit in costing us the game. Two missed field goals, one returned for a touchdown. A bad decision on a punt/safety surrender. Two poor missed field goal returns.

Roll that into a sequence with a bad offensive play call series and a near interception deep in our own territory and that series of mistakes, mostly mental, more or less cost us the game. In fact, overall, mental mistakes by a number of players led to this loss. Brown on the returns. McCallum on the punt. Lulay on the first interception. The Lions were beaten mentally by a team that isn't more talented than them. They also lost on special teams, which is an increasing area of concern, though kickoff and punt coverage continues to improve. The secondary play wasn't the greatest either.

But there's 15 more of these, and you don't improve without adversity. So let's get back on the horse next week.

I don't think McCallum got a good snap on either of the missed field goals. On the second in particular, the snap was high, forcing Paul to pause in his mechanics.

Cheers,

I didn't see the first one, but the second one was definitely high.

Cro, I know there is no point in complaining about the refereeing.

However, when they call 8 on the Lions, for 86 yards, and 3 on the Riders for 10 yards, it is hard to take. And I would say let the people complain. Sometimes the refs can be influenced by the crowd, and the environment.

In a close game, I would feel better if the refereeing shows even results in the stats.

No I fricken won't . They were absolutely terrible and they cost us. Clip on the FG return. Many many missed calls.

And again, I don't as a rule complain, but they were absolutely awful.
