bbking,

I don't know if anyone has commended you on your pirate ditties. They are pretty cool.

It seems we've all had serious stuff on our minds with this Casey business, and the Lions' precarious position.

But your cheerful pirate stuff brings a chuckle.

It be the motherload of good English speakin'.

Tis the hope we still be a chucklin' after the Swashbucklin' between the troubled ships Buono and Hall.

Problem is, WCBF is right, based on what I've read in the last few days.

Maybe we all need to take off our orange-tinted glasses, and try to look at the team objectively.

As far as Area51 is concerned, I don't give a crap about Foley, and anything he writes regarding Foley I ignore, but it is damn hard to ignore what he said about Buono, especially when now the sports writers are saying the same thing.

It is time for Buono to go as HC.

My response to this subject was probably best said by Angus Reid: "I don't think he ever had control..."

That could be, with all that orange tinting, as you say.

Some of us are not in a position to ignore trolls like Area51, and if you think he's here to spark intelligent debate, I will disagree with you, with all due respect. He is here because he feels that Wally treated Ricky badly, no more, no less. He started this thread to continue his vendetta. And as bad as some think the Mods here are, the simple fact that this thread isn't locked should say something.

Had you started this thread, or anyone else that pays to see this team play, I would more than support that view, everyone's opinion welcome. But that isn't why Area51 posts here. Ergo, I and others will not react in the way he wishes us to, and choose to not take his trolling seriously. He posts to get reactions, not to discuss the team and the game. That's the definition of a troll.

People have axes to grind with Wally, Chaps, etc., and that's fine. But don't wrap yourself up in another team's flag and scream that the flagpole should be melted down. be honest and see if that comes back to you.

Just my. :2cents:

Hmmm it makes sense, but in the same respect I would argue that just as much as the OP has a vendetta against Wally Buono, I would say there are dozens of posters who have a vendetta against Casey Printers. It's really moot at this point now, and everyone needs to just move on from that situation (myself included). But in terms of the points made in this thread about Wally Buono...I could see why other people wouldn't be happy with the job he's done over the past 2-3 seasons.

Also...I very much enjoy those chicken fajitas from McDonalds ;)

We get it. You don't like Wally or the Lions. Petsonally, I almost puke each time I see you patronize us with "Go Lions Go" after certain posts; I find it disengenous on your part and insulting on my part.

People here pay money to see this team play, and thus have a right to state opinions yay or nay about subjects such as coaching; you are related to a Toronto Argonaut player who was once a Lion and us no longer here, thank the lord. Your anti Lions rants are tiresome and tedious, and boring. You may incite some posters that don't know your one track style, but rest assured that the Mod staff does.

Still Triple O for me. Tell Phony what he's missing. Oh and good game last night Argos.
We get it too. So if you don't want to read his posts or save your self from puking, why don't you simply put him on ignore.

Area51 brings up some good points and can be the ying to many on heres yang. Do I always think hes objective? Well, he does see the world through Foley colored glasses, but that's his choice. And constantly bringing up whether he or she is related to Foley is moot and only looks like a personal attack.

I don't understand why you consistently play the "mod" card when it comes to certain posters. As stated by WCJ, Area51 has done nothing wrong according to the rules. Seems that you and others have taken exception to him voicing his OWN opinion which is anti-Buono and pro-Foley.

Yeah yeah, I know......free to post elsewhere, understand there is another site, yada yada yada, :hypno:
:cheer: :good: Good points. A message board such as this is basically a medium for people to share their opinions. Of course many of them are going to be completely subjective --- it's the very nature of a discussion board. As long as poster's remain respectful, all opinions should be welcomed.
I have noticed that many poster's post with a 'bent' that is specific to them --- we all have our own unique perspective of players, teams, coaches, etc --- kind of the essence of the board.
It is disappointing to see a poster such as Area51 ridiculed simply because his opinions may not be the popular one. I agree .... people are free to either NOT respond to him or to put him on ignore.
So he is a Foley fan .. so what? Lots of other poster's here have defended players that others might find questionable.

I have just spent about 30 mins restoring this to a football related thread and I am going to unlock it because any team that can't fill out a roster card deserves to have it's coaches and management questioned.

and now you may continue your regularly scheduled football related discussion

there was also a us vs them soap opera at work in this thread which has no place in the football forum and preferably not on the site, however the soap opera continues so i thought i would colour outside the lines and give a select group of people the podium they want. I have merged the tripe from this thread to a new thread in the pub if you give a *poop* that thread is here since deleted but take note of the following
Note from the guy who makes the rules
this was pulled from a football thread to here .... I have tried to move all the crap here from the point were things went sideways ... those of you who want to be involved in this silly freakin soap opera can post your us vs them crap in this thread and keep it out of all present and future threads
Failure to comply WILL lead to some sort discipline

we now resume the bull *poop*
and now you may continue your regularly scheduled football related discussion
I'm sorry, but you feel it inappropriate to say that Buono needs to go? That that is not a football related comment?

I didn't say that at all ..... i was seperating some un related drama from this thread so you could continue that very discussion, in fact what i actually said was
any team that can't fill out a roster card deserves to have it's coaches and management questioned.
so .... carry on

Glad to see someone called the locksmith to get this discussion opened up again. I think it should be a sticky until the inevitable dismissal of Buono, but for now I'm happy it's no longer closed up.

Being "in control" has nothing to do with making every decision and having the final say on all matters. Even the screw up with McCallum and the botched line up card tonight isn't a real issue - - it's an embarassment, but nothing overly serious.

But allowing 370+ rushing yards to a team with a turtle for a QB and only one receiver that's a threat is unacceptable. Where were the in game adjustments? It's as if Buono just gave up any hope of trying to contain the rush and stood back to watch the disaster unfold. There's nothing more demoralizing than giving up 300+ rushing yards.

If you remember back a couple of years to when Don Matthews returned to Toronto for the last 8 games of the year, he actually stood at the 35yd line with his hands behind his back and no headset on for pretty much the entire game. That's an extreme eample of being out of control, but it's not too far off how Buono handled the rush defence tonight. Damn, put 10 guys in the box if you have to and take your chances at giving up a long pass - - just do something other than let the opponent run over you for 5 quarters.

Sticky .... dude sounds like you have an agenda :tease:

I would be interested in a poll .... this thread probably should have been a poll :2cents:

The only agenda is that he's right. Buono has completely lost this team. For the couple who blamed everything on CP, tonight proved that CP was NOT the problem. It is now quite clear that Buono and Chap are DONE...like last year's toast.

They both need to be fired.

Gotcha, so the fact that I agreed and supported Area51 in his assertions is why my post ended up in that garbage thread. Now I understand.
