Tillman charged with sexual assault

I was waiting for the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club to release a statement. Now it's released.

In light of the events that have taken place this morning affecting General Manager of the Club, Eric Tillman, President/CEO Jim Hopson has asked that a special meeting of the Board of Directors of the Club be held as soon as reasonably possible to consider all relevant aspects of this new development.

Pending resolution of this matter, the Club and Mr. Tillman have agreed that he should step back and he will not have any responsibilities for the day to day operations of the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club.

While an early resolution is desirable for all concerned, no further statement will be made until the Club has completed its deliberations on this development.

Furthermore, I'd say Tillman will need constant protection from now on, especially in Regina. If the people in Regina has already attacked Paul McCallum just over five years ago, imagine what they would do to Eric Tillman.

I think when it comes to these very serious situations, it's kind of expected that extreme thoughts and opinions come out.
If everyone criticizes me when it comes to my personal opinions, then by default bad personal actions justify more criticism.

this just in... Tillman granted an absolute discharge. Means he is guilty, but will have no record and does not have to meet any conditions. As much of a hard line as I take on Tillman being guilty, I actually agree with the court's decision on sentencing. Tillman had to admit he did something wrong, apologize for it, and (likely) suffer the consequences in his personal life.

Tillman had to admit he did something wrong, apologize for it, and (likely) suffer the consequences in his personal life.

And if he re offends this incident can be used against him, so its not like he is totally off the hook. Seems like its a proper punishment to me as well.
