This one is almost all on Foley's head. The agent can share some of the shame.

The Lions were above board on this one.
Fair enough, Jim.

But did Foley just change his mind?

Or was there some mischief involved?

Shouldn't Wally have waited to send in the contract to the league later?

If Wally really wanted him, why let him go and think about something they've already agreed upon?

If Wally wanted to let Ricky think about it, wait until next day to talk some more, and then send in the contract, and then announce it.

Agreed. The agent said Monday night that it wasn't a done deal, despite the fact he and Ricky had apparently agreed to the terms. Ricky obviously went back and forth several times, with friends and family and ex-teammates pulling or pushing him in two directions. I don't see it as bad faith. He had a tough decision, he changed his mind a few times and ultimately took more money to play close to home. That was probably the most logical decision from the get-go, but he wasn't thinking logically with the emotions of being cut twice in a week and flying back and forth across the continent, and then facing the prospect of flying back across the continent again.

What this incident showed me more than anything is that Wally Buono is all class. He wanted Foley to make a decision he wouldn't regret because he didn't want him to regret coming back and then being a disgruntled player. He respects Foley's decision and he's prepared to move on.

I just hope they can land another talentd player to play the rush end. Pittman didn't show anything before he got hurt. Geathers had promise but got hurt in his first game. The job is there for the taking.

Well, don't hold your breath on Stevie Baggs coming this way unless he wants to cut his price in half.

"Money Baggs" is well known for liking the green a team will offer up. Personally I think that he is the better onfield player between himself and Foley NI status aside. However he knows how to arrange the two bolded letters in team like no other. The team that lands him will have an impact player, but the cost may make them an SMS casualty.

The only way I would sign Baggs is if Chick came with him.

He was a bum in Winnipeg. It was Chick who made him look great in Sask.
I'd love you to say it to my face because you'd only say it once...if you ever had the courage to say it at all!! Blitz, 05/24/2008

Disagree on Chicks making Baggs look good, although it is a catchy statement. Baggs has a motor and I often saw him in downfield pursuit looking to punish someone. Combine that with his neutralizing of Burris/Reynolds option handoff, he will be a great addition in Hamilton.
