Except as has been pointed out numerous times, officiating crews make mistakes and it is why there is a video review challenge that the Riders should have used, that they didn't also happens on occasion. As for the Montreal fiasco, that could have even cost the Lions, as the Als still had a 3rd and short play to kill more time off the clock and go for the outright win if they had succeeded with zero time left on the clock. As it was the TD would have left plenty of time for the Lions to settle the outcome, the way it played out, thankfully the Lions prevailed, Als plain lost that game by their own sword.Freesafety wrote:I believe we benefited twice from poor officiating (the Montreal touchdown issue, and the forward kick against Saskatchewan), and guess what? It was the same officiating team led by Higgins in both of those games!! The guy is a mess, but his mess helped us out twice, so we can't say too much about the blown pass interfwerence in this game.Sir Purrcival wrote:I hate that we lost and I don't care much for the Riders either but the fact is, a couple of times earlier in the season, we benefited from Ref errors (insert Montreal}. What is done is done, Refs have been inconsistent every year that I can remember in recent memory. I don't hold out much hope that they will ever get it "right". What we can take out of this is that we could have won the game, in their house, with a rusty QB, third game in a row on the road and a large cast of walking wounded. We need to remember that, the Riders most assuredly will. We can take that team and they know it and so do their fans.

Know one ever knows how something might have turned out had action A not happened or vice versa. Instant replay does not address penalties or non calls and as such all teams are going to get victimized by the Zebra once in awhile. Hence my avy is what it is. The Riders had most of the advantages going for them last Sat and in the end, it proved just a bit too much. Good teams also make their own luck. If they are going to bend the rules and get away with it, then we just have to try and do the same.
Tell me how long must a fan be strong? Ans. Always.

What is especially frustrating is that every time there is a blatant NON-call (hits on our QB's, the PI's, etc.), the other team's fans will squawk about and point out the MTL game. I think we've repaid that supposed debt many times over already.
This is OUR league...

Bobby would have been standing beside Higgins giving him an earful and telling him to fix the problem. And if that didn't work, I don't think it would have taken him long to be on the horn to Cohon.KnowItAll wrote:before complaining about the refs, think to yourself, what would bobby do.
Now that I don't live in Quesnel do I need to change my handle??
