LB - Terna Nande, Jason Arakgi, Josh Bean, Jamall Johnson (still hitting his stride, IMO potential All-Star), Jason Pottinger (still developing and productive). Now that we have Nande, IMO our depth at LB is good.
I thought the Lions were trying to develop Arakgi as a safety. I know he played linebacker at McMaster and is a great tackler, as we've seen on special teams this year. I don't know how his speed or cover ability matches up with Crawford's but I'd like to see him get some reps somewhere on defence next year.
What makes this player standout on the field?

"Jason’s speed is outstanding. He has consistently run sub-4.5 times in the 40-yard dash."

"At the CIS level, Jason is a unique combination of speed and power. He is tough enough to take on fullbacks and pulling offensive linemen and fast enough to cover slotbacks one-on-one. He is also one of the best special teams players in the OUA."

"Off the field, he is a great leader who brings every intangible asset to the table."

What will this player bring to Pro Football as a rookie?

"Jay could contribute at Mac, Will, Sam, or free safety. He is athletically ready to push for a starting job at several spots.

"On special teams, I think Jason is ready to make an instant impact."

"In the locker room and on the practice field, Jason will bring a positive attitude and energy to every second of every day." - draft analysis
Yes, the Lions do have Arakgi working out with the DBs. But when you consider his speed (4.5 in the 40), and size (6'2", 220), his LB experience in college, his ST speed and tackling ability, the Lions use of tweeners at LB for cover ability and speed, it seems to me he is an ideal candidate for LB work in the modern CFL. Some of their thinking might be to give him practice in pass coverage this year, so that he can be a tweener type of LB, able to stop the run and to cover RBs and receivers.

Yes I meant Justin Sorenson re next year. OL, our first round pick this year, back in US college for this year. Could be drafted by the NFL. I think the Lions retain the rights to Buydens for next year. After that one year, I think he is a free agent.

I thought Buydens looked like a very good prospect for the O Line. More of a centre type than either guard or tackle. I think the Lions like him too.

TSN

But seriously, I guess it all comes down to perception of right and wrong on this point. I do think time, or change of situation (signing for a new team) makes a difference. Obviously others won't agree with me. I played alot of sports, not at the CFL level of course, but that display goes against every sporting "ethic" I was raised to believe.
Playing team sports helps in this discussion. Teammates become family after awhile and anyone who slags a family member "gets it".Youre in it till the end. I've played in championship games where someone who made a few bad plays gets the heat. We all made mistakes. Anyone who slags family has no class. Regina, figures.
