I'll go for shockers this week,

Bengals beat the Steelers, I think BIG Ben at 100% could get it done, but Palmer has a game today.

The others not so shocking,

Saints over Carolina
Vikings over Chicago

Won't be surprised if I go 0fer 3 this week but there have been some surprising wins this season.

Go TICATS!!

:bang: Bengals was a bone head pick. Shoulda checked to find out Palmer is more injured that BigBen. Steelers are gonna make me look even dumber than I actually am!!!!

You beat me this week WCJ, the Skins won! I lost all three of my picks, I don't know what I was thinking :bang: .

Indy looked awful against Green Bay. Peyton was throwing TD passes but not to Colts. I was amazed at how Oakland beat the jets (you get a mulligan since it went into OT & Favre did lead a last minute drive to send the game into OT).

How about them Cowboys, NOT.

IND: P. Manning (21-42, 229) , D. Clark (8-81)
GB: A. Rodgers (21-28, 186) , R. Grant (31-105)

CLE: D. Anderson (14-37, 136) , J. Lewis (19-80)

NYJ: B. Favre (21-38, 197) , T. Jones (24-159)

Time for Al Davis to "retire." A graveyard for coaches right now.

We lose our Sunday Nighter (some kinda deal the NFL must have with Major League Baseball) for a week.

According to the Province newspaper, the big one this week is the NY Giants versus Pittsburgh. I have had a bit of a grudge against the Steelers ever since they beat the Seahawks in the Superbowl, so I'm picking the Giants. I do hope this one lives up to its billing, sometimes I find the good NFL games were not the ones that looked good on paper.

Giants (6-1-0) 3 6 0 12 21
Steelers (5-2-0) 7 0 7 0 14

NYG: E. Manning (19-32, 199) , B. Jacobs (18-47)
PIT: B. Roethlisberger (13-29, 189) , M. Moore (19-84)

2 tough teams. The Giants who finished strongly last year, have continued on this year. Eli is in the upper echelon of QBs now, along with Rothlisberger.
..........................

Chiefs (1-6-0) 0 14 3 7 24
Jets (4-3-0) 7 7 7 7 28

KC: T. Thigpen (25-36, 280) , D. Bowe (6-102)
NYJ: B. Favre (28-40, 290) , J. Cotchery (9-102)

Favre can still throw 'em.
..........................

Rams (2-5-0) 3 7 3 3 16
Patriots (5-2-0) 7 6 0 10 23

STL: M. Bulger (18-34, 301) , D. Avery (6-163)
NE: M. Cassel (21-33, 267) , R. Moss (7-102)

Cassel looking more and more like he could be Tom Brady's little brother.
........................

Bills (5-2-0) 3 6 7 0 16
Dolphins (3-4-0) 7 0 10 8 25

BUF: T. Edwards (21-35, 227) , L. Evans (7-116)
MIA: C. Pennington (22-30, 314) , T. Ginn (7-175)

Has Parcells turned the Dolphins around ahead of schedule? Possibly. And has Jerry Jones figured out that Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcells built those Cowboy teams for him? No. And has Jones figured out that he does not have what it takes to be an effective GM of the team he owns? No.
...........................

Redskins (6-2-0) 3 3 10 9 25
Lions (0-7-0) 7 3 0 7 17

WAS: J. Campbell (23-28, 328) , S. Moss (9-140)
DET: D. Orlovsky (21-35, 223) , S. McDonald (5-68)

Looks like Zorn might not have needed previous Head Coaching experience at any level to prepare himself for the job in Washington.

I admire the Steelers record but...I think what they do works in the NFL. In the CFL I think Coaches say "fine, what you do works so we'll so something else instead that may conflict with your usual strategy". The Steelers are awesome against the run so RUN, RUN, RUN. It didn't work last time, it won't this time.

I think the NFL is weird this year because so many of the sure things aren't so sure. Cowboys start strong, now they suck. Titans are undefeated? NYGiants are doing well, so are the Redskins. What's going on? I wish my CFL playoffs were on SUndays, where I think they belong but personally this will work out just fine. My friends/family/girlfriend aren't going to like it because its FOOTBALL all weekend every weekend until Grey Cup Sunday (that had better NOT change, IMO).

NFL Point Spreads For Week 9 - Week Nine NFL Football Point Spread - NFL Spreads 11/2 - 11/3, 2008

Date & Time Favorite Spread Underdog

11/2 1:00 ET At Minnesota -4.5 Houston

11/2 1:00 ET Jacksonville -7.5 At Cincinnati

11/2 1:00 ET Tampa Bay -8.5 At Kansas City

11/2 1:00 ET At Cleveland -1.5 Baltimore

11/2 1:00 ET At Buffalo -5.5 NY Jets

11/2 1:00 ET Arizona -3 At St. Louis

11/2 1:00 ET At Chicago -12.5 Detroit

11/2 1:00 ET At Tennessee -5.5 Green Bay

11/2 4:05 ET At Denver -3 Miami

11/2 4:15 ET Atlanta -3 At Oakland
.....................

11/2 4:15 ET At NY Giants -8.5 Dallas

Cowboys (5-3-0)
Giants (6-1-0)

DAL: T.Romo (128-200,1689) , M.Barber (153-611)
NYG: E.Manning (137-223,1588) , B.Jacobs (114-563)

Gonna take the Giants. Not a Cowboys fan since Jimmy Johnson, Bobby Ackles, and, much later, Bill Parcells left the team.
.........................

11/2 4:15 ET Philadelphia -6.5 At Seattle

Eagles (4-3-0)
Seahawks (2-5-0)

PHI: D.McNabb (154-245,1829) , B.Westbrook (76-361)
SEA: M.Hasselbeck (58-118,656) , J.Jones (103-468)

Andy Reid and Mike Holmgren.

These two guys look like twins. Big, beefy guys with out-of-fashion mustaches. Many a hamburger, Coke and fries for these guys. Good coaches too, although Holmgren seems to have retired before his contract runs out at the end of the year.

I'll take Philly, riding the wave of the World Series.
.............

11/2 8:15 ET At Indianapolis -6 New England

Patriots (5-2-0)
Colts (3-4-0)

NE: M.Cassel (131-199,1362) , S.Morris (69-307)
IND: P.Manning (162-265,1754) , D.Rhodes (69-247)

I'll take the Colts. Peyton Manning is a clone of Colts' legend and Hall-of-Fame QB Johnny Unitas, but he might not be the best QB named Manning anymore.

I'll take the Redskins in the Monday Nighter.

Giants over the Cowboys.

I like the Baltimore/Cleveland game. I'll take the Browns but who knows which team will show.

Seahawks have been brutal. I think the Eagles will win by 15+!

Tampa MAY actually (finally) win a road game! lol I feel certain that Jeff Garcia will bounce back from his low offensive output against Dallas last week. Mind you, that game was within reach, and if the Bucs defense hadn't taken six penalties to keep a Dallas drive going all the way into the endzone for a major they could have eeked out a win in big D. All that being said my Bucs are looking good this week :D

THEY DID!!! Gruden sounded like he'd taken a cheese grater to his vocal chords.

Giants and Eagles kept winning as did the Titans.

The NFL really seems to be a self-fufilling prophecy at times but IMO, this seems to be fading a bit this season. Cowboys were great to start, now, notsomuch.

Cowboys have lost their QB, top 3 CBs, top receiver who is also key to the running game, and Felix Jones who is a homerun hitter. After the bye they can still make some noise, but may have dug too deep a hole.

Tight game. Good for the Colts.

No real surprise there. The Hawks are awful. The Mariners are worse, and the Sonics are gone.

It would be a shame if Jerry Jones is losing sleep over the travails of his team. Nottttt

The Indy/Pats game was a good one. These aren't the SAME teams that seem to meet every year in the playoffs. Decent game nonetheless.

I do think the Cowboys need to get rid of TO. He's a blowhard. Yes he's good, yes he has a great resume of STATS but how many rings does he has?

Seahawks are looking awful, nuff said.

Steelers/Redskins on the Nighter. I am hoping this will be a good one.
