If there were 15,000 empty seats in two weeks when Calgary swings in, changes would be made.
What Wally doesn't understand is the Lions are competing for entertainment dollars pure and simple, and his product isn't entertaining, and it hasn't been for some time. This isn't about winning and losing. It's about entertainment.
Wally doesn't get this at all, and neither do the Lions. The best attendance the Lions have had since the '80s was when Flutie was scrambling around and exciting people. We finished third in the division that year and lost in first round of the playoffs. Vancouver doesn't remember that. They remember how entertaining the football was. Wally's job isn't to win --it's to produce an entertaining product that we want to consume. And on that count, he's failed consistently.

Cheers,

James
You pretty well hit the nail on the head. I can take losing a game, or several of them for that matter. I have been a Lion fan since 1961, but have never seen such an anemic offense before. One can look at the "positives" in that we lost four games by a total of 16 points. What is missing is an offence of any description except one that is entirely predictable. The Lions have no teeth. I had to turn off the last game as it was too much like torture, and I won't watch another for quite a while. When I lived in Vancouver I had season tickets. When we ended up in Fort McMurray, I STILL HAD season tickets. I actually got a phone call one day from Bobby Ackles asking if his list of ticket holders was a mistake. I traveled from here to see my team at no small expense. This year, after the last six games, you probably couldn't pay me to walk across the street so see them "play". Being a Lions fan for this long, I am well used to losing seasons. I have seen first-hand what Pezim and his ilk did to my favourite team. This is worse and something has to be done. It really pains me to write this stuff but I've really had enough of half-efforts, stupid penalties, and bland play calling.
Pezim years brought in Doug Flutie, the O wasn't a problem. Now Kuharic was a signing that made it difficult during that time, especially since I was a ST holder in Calgary during his HC reign.
Entertainment value = an all time low

Re: As Fans, What do we do?

2010 is truly unique for me......for the last 46+ years, I've watched the start of EVERY Lions game with a feeling of hope and anticipation that the Lions would/could prevail.....no matter how long the odds, I always felt that with a good effort, they could win EVERY game.

That feeling is gone.....for the first time, I feel hopeless at the start of a game......because I realize that if the other team is playing well, then the Lions have no chance......why?........because they simply can't win with that offense.

The superior talent that allowed the Lions to win over the last number of years is gone..........now, it is only good and on par with the better to average teams in the CFL.

But the most disheartening thing of all......is the attitude of Buono and his unwillingness to see the truth about Chapdelaine.......because until he allows himself to see that truth, the Lions will continue to play boring, unimaginative, predictable offense and the team will continue to lose.......and as long as Braley gives him "carte blanche", there's no reason to believe that anything is going to change in the forseeable future.....and THAT saddens me greatly.
