You make assumptions that the crowd wil be Pro-toronto. Considering there are less than 2000 tickets available and MANY fans from ALL of the teams are going, it is hard to say what the noise will be like for the teams playing.
If the Argos make the game, it's not like there will suddenly be a bunch of tickets picked up by Argo fans. Most of the attendance for the game is already determined. I know I have 8 seats filled with Lions fans, just as a start.
A good indication of noise for the Grey Cup will be 2005 when I'm not sure either team had a large noise advantage, it was just noisy period. I for one kept switching just to "help" it get to overtime.

Recall 1994 when they hadn't sold that many Grey Cup tickets here prior to that amazing Flutie catch in the West Final in Calgary.
After that amazing win, they sold 25,000 G.C. tickets in like two days, obviously all Lions fans pumped up that the Lions had just advanced to the Big Dance!
So yes that's the difference between this year in Toronto and 1994 here

This is a Warm Up for the Western Final, so we all gotta pitch in and raise that Volume Level Saturday night
I wanna hear 39,000 sound like 59,000

I remember BC Place being pretty loud when they didn't open up the upper deck a few years back. If they get 35+, it can get pretty loud.

I'm not a big fan of airhors although it does help with the noise. I find it a lot intimidating when it's just noise from fans screaming.

Bring your banner; bring your plastic trumpet; heck, bring your cowbell!
But as for airhorns, well, just let me say I've got the Fan Line on my speed-dial. :x
To quote from the "Code of Conduct":
Use of air horns and all other electronic noise makers in BC Place is prohibited at all times.
Besides, we all know airhorns are for prairie and eastern fans. They emulate the sound of their dying Grey Cup chances.
And one more thing:
Let's all wear orange!

Wear Moustaches! All of us, paint or draw a Moustache!
We gotta support Rob Murphy and the Moustache Project. His interview tonight with Kelly Bates on BC Lions TV is a classic.
And Christie Buono interviewing Cameron Wake is an award winner!

I believe air horns are banned from BC Place. I saw one confiscated by security last year.

sj-roc wrote:Actually I believe the reason we were penalised in the instances I referred to above was NOT for pumping in fake crowd noise (which hasn't been done in years, even if it all -- and certainly not in the Buono era) but for keeping the "Fan-o-meter" displayed on the main video screen after the opponent's offence has broken huddle. It's a silent animated graphic -- purportedly a decibel measuring device -- that encourages fans to bury its needle with their OWN noise. As I said in that previous post, the penalty was for "Illegal Use of Electronic Equipment", not "Illegal Use of Fake Crowd Noise".
What a stupid reason for a penalty.
