None of those games were at a sold out BCP.David wrote:Random thought of the day:

Good point, at least the Lions only have to play one of them IF they get by the Esks. Wonder which team the Ticats or Bombers would prefer to play? Sure they (or their fans anyways) have their favourites. I'm guessing the Esks simply because do you EVER want to play a football championship game on your opponents field? Regardless of the winner, it will be their first trip to the renovated BC Place.....David wrote:Random thought of the day:

That is funny, Robbie. And I hope it is true.Robbie wrote:For now, congrats to the Blue Bombers. Let it be a rematch of the 1988 Grey Cup.
This will be the only trophy you will carry.
For those keeping score, I don't think any Lions players even touched the WF trophy. From what I saw, only WB held it briefly — and that was only after Cohon handed it to him; what was he gonna do, leave the commish hanging?TheLionKing wrote:Good to see Buck hoisting the trophy but I don't think he'll be doing the same next week.
I took Robbies advice and hung around for the trophy presentation. Not on the field as in past years but in the makeshift studio in the south endzone. Brent Johnson wanted nothing to do with the WF trophy. Brushed it away when Buono offered it to him.....sj-roc wrote:For those keeping score, I don't think any Lions players even touched the WF trophy. But it would be hilarious if Buono left the commish holding on to the trophysj-roc wrote:For those keeping score, I don't think any Lions players even touched the WF trophy. Certainly different location from 2004 through 2007 as it was no longer on the field level in the end zone. I suppose in the past, even with the Lions winning in 2004 and 2006, it was too hard to see from the stands so the fans just left anyways. I guess this way, at least it could be seen very clearly through the cameras.notahomer wrote:I took Robbies advice and hung around for the trophy presentation. Way to go, Buck. Many fans still on the west coast.
Yes it was a different location but it was cool to watch regardless. We still go to watch on the second largest stadium replay screen in North America. I personally don't see why an on-field presentation of a trophy would matter. Present the trophy where it was won. The Canuck fans who had to watch the Bruins celebrate did get to watch the Stanley Cup being given out. It is obvious the Lions captains really don't care too much about this trophy its the one with two handles that really matters........Robbie wrote: sj-roc indicated that the reason there was no on-field trophy presentation after 1994 Grey Cup was because the Stanley Cup riot took place five months earlier and the organizers felt that it would get crazy on the field. So with another riot five months ago, will there be yet another no on-field trophy presentation?
