The ex-game in Langford sold out in a matter of minutes. I wonder how many Lions season ticket holders decided to keep their tickets and how many declined.

As an ST holder this year, I ignored this entirely for reasons you were posting on some time back.

If they can make it an event, fine, but this is a pre-season game and coaches have other ideas about these games.

I didn't read it but they offered ST holders something else as well - not sure what.

A Lions practice once rosters are set are more exciting to me than a pre-season game.

I'd like to know how many tickets were available for the Langford game. I also declined to use my tickets. Fans on the Island and those who want to travel from the Mainland for the weekend can put game tickets to better use. I'd be happy for the Lions to hold their preseason game every year in communities throughout B.C., including Victoria, Kelowna and Prince George. That may even convince Hambone to attend a preseason game.

As it turns out, I'll have company in Kamloops on the long weekend but will be in Alberta at the end of May and plan to attend the final preseason game in Edmonton. The starting lineups in that game will likely more closely resemble the regular-season starters.

ST holders were offered "bonus" tickets for a regular season game of their choice in exchange for the Langford tickets you declined. Those will be in whatever price group your STs are in and in the same quantity as you have seats in your account. So if you have a pair of seats in say Midfield group which is between the 45s you will be able to get another pair in that same area for free. That's in theory for Midfield as there's not a lot of seats in that area that are not held by ST holders.

I'm going to guess the majority of ST holders who picked up their option for Langford are Island residents. Might have picked up a few hundred mainland ST holders who would be heading to the Island for the long weekend anyways. My guess is max 1500 went to ST holders while 4500+ went to the general public.

Lol. Yeah I might take in a preseason game in PG. Like many places in BC lack of capacity would be a hindrance. We have Masich Place Stadium which is home of the CJFL Kodiaks, USports UNBC Timberwolves mens & womens soccer teams as well as local high school football teams.

Permanent seating capacity is roughly 1000 all in the grandstand on the one side of the field. Having never attended an event there I have no idea what amenities are available but suspect like Hillside in Kamloops there are washrooms under the grandstand and limited to no concession space. There is room for addition of temp seating in the corners beside the grandstand as well as across the field between the sidelines and Massey Drive. Cost could be prohibitive if it costs more to put up any sort of temporary seating, concession and washroom/porta potty capacity than revenue from ticket sales could generate. To add at least 5000 seats, if possible, I think would come at a signifcant loss unless the City of PG covered most of the costs. Strategically the Lions wouldn't gain much out of a PG game. Maybe they add 20 or 30 new ST holders. That's just a reflection on the distance and cost that comes with being located 800 km away from BC Place. There's not many idiots like me willing to eat the cost of having Lions STs.

Truth be known it would be more economical for PG folks to hold Edmonton Elks STs than BC Lions STs. Shorter, quicker road trip. Cheaper gas and hotels at less than half the price.

The 3DNation article incorrectly states that this year's game in Langford is at the same stadium as last season's Touchdown Pacific game which was at Royal Athletic Park in Victoria.

I kept my ST for the Langford game plus ordered another ticket next to "mine". I won't be at the game, but will transfer them to my son who lives in Victoria....

So I guess that makes my tickets meeting your "criteria" of going to Island residents...

I think I needed to add a 3rd option; mainland STs to be used by Island folks. A combination of the two groups I thought of. No doubt you were far from the only one to do that. I did similar for TDP last year sending my ticket and my sidekick's to a Victoria buddy. My sidekick and I had single STs side by side at BCP. He's bailing this year because now that he's retired he's missing even more games than ever before. He made only 2 regular season games last year while I made 7.

I only have one single season ticket and will use the option of the bonus ticket sometime during the regular season. Might have to work with my rep to convert my seat and the bonus into a pair together somewhere.

TDP was, hands down, the highlight of the 2024 season for my wife and me.

It was the combination of inspired play by the Leos, a beautiful day, fresh cut grass, great sight lines, and the novelty. I am so glad we went and made a weekend out of it. Not something I'd want to do every year, but it was well worth the money invested in the experience.

It was the combination of inspired play by the Leos, a beautiful day, fresh cut grass, great sight lines, and the novelty. I am so glad we went and made a weekend out of it. Not something I'd want to do every year, but it was well worth the money invested in the experience.

I would have attended but took advantage of the weird Lions schedule to go on a 60 day road trip across Canada. BC had only 2 home games between their July 13 game vs SSK and their Sept 13 game vs TOR. If I recall I watched it from a barstool at Jack Astors in downtown Toronto enroute back to Van for the Argos game.
