Lol. In my case my carriers switched me. I dumped Telus in favour of Shaw when they got into the cell phone businessB.C.FAN wrote: Sat Jul 27, 2024 7:37 pmI switched carriers. Telus service was bad where I sit near field level but Rogers is non-existent.
I saved a ton on roaming charges while in Mexico. Then Rogers bought Shaw and I've been nervous ever since. Credit to them they locked me in to my Can/US/Mex plan for 5 years to keep me. I occasionally check out the Game Tracker while at games and find sometimes it's quite responsive, other times not so much.

Just buy a game day program on your way in for the lineups, standings & all pertinent info.B.C.FAN wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 4:14 pm I can’t even get Wifi in the stadium this year to follow game stats and information.

I'm going to test out the game using the 101.1 HD2 signal next home game. I've tried listening to the CKNW broadcast via their internet web radio player to be really spotty whether it is in the stadium or on the bus going home. The HD signal should be clear and without static. We shall see...

I don't know the physics of such things. What I do know is when it comes to AM there can be noticeable difference one station to the next. Atmospheric conditions winter vs summer also make a big difference. I found whether I was up in FSJohn in the winter or down close to coast in summer TSN1040 would boom in loud and clear while AM650 would be at best staticy if I could even pick the signal. I don't know if they were on different wattage or the difference was location of transmitters.Dusty wrote: Fri Aug 02, 2024 9:03 am I'm going to test out the game using the 96.9 HD signal next home game. Driving down a street with trolly wires (e.g 4th Ave), CKNW 980 is one of the worst for static, if not the worst when I listen in my car. I ride the Vancouver trolly bus to and from the games. The interference from the trolly wires causes enormous static on the AM dial so I bought a portable radio with High Def (HD). The old 730 broadcast came in loud and clear using their HD band signal. I hoped that the switch to 980 would allow me to use the internet broadcast, but that signal is very weak. I'll go back to my portable radio using CKNW's HD band (101.1). I hope it will work better, even if the post-game show is only 30 minutes.Hambone wrote: Fri Aug 02, 2024 4:17 pmI don't know the physics of such things. At the game yesterday, I 'tested out' some of the radio coverage, both in my seat and in the concourse. Here's what I found:Dusty wrote: Fri Aug 02, 2024 4:41 pmDriving down a street with trolly wires (e.g 4th Ave), CKNW 980 is one of the worst for static, if not the worst when I listen in my car. 1. The HD signal for CKNW works very well in the concourse and my seat. BUT you need a HD capable radio.
2. The AM980 signal is filled with static in my seat and unlistenable in the concourse due to static.
3. The AM730 signal is much clearer than AM980 in the concourse with very little static and is listenable in my seat.
4. The radio broadcast for games is now on AM980 and AM730 as since the shutdown of AM730 Traffic, whatever is on AM980 is also broadcast on AM730.
5. The AM730 broadcast is behind the play. Walking the concourse, AM730 was almost 2 plays behind the TV's.
Bottom line, if you have a HD capable radio, the broadcast is clear. If you have a AM radio, listening to the AM 730 broadcast, even if it is delayed, is possible.
