Re: Return of Stefan Logan a Possibility

Well said Big Time I think it is far too easy to overlook the fact that he was a mere 20 something when he was lighting things up. I don't know about anyone else here but you might ask yourself the question of just how mature and seasoned you were at 23-24. Couple that with the sudden media spotlight and the complete garbage of an agent he had and you have a recipe for what happened. Even in his choice of an agent, you can cut him some slack because he was family. You tend to put more faith in relatives than strangers. He was young enough and dumb enough not to know the difference between quality representation and what he actually got.

I think where he really lost the most cred though was with the Hamilton/Montreal fiasco. Much like I can't ever forgive Foley, his last moment decision to not show was disrespectful and duplicitous. I am of the mind that when you commit to someone, even verbally, you have to keep that commitment. After that little drama, I think a lot of people really didn't care too much for Mr. Printers and were quite fine and even a little happy when he fell on his face in Hamilton. By the time he arrived back here, his failure in the NFL, his crash in Hamilton had taken it's toll. He wasn't the same person and it seemed that everyone was waiting for him to fail in BC as well. Short of becoming the greatest QB of all time, he wasn't ever going to get that break from the fans who were all too willing to pour on the heat with every misstep. It must have been incredibly hard for CP and looking in the rear view mirror and adding a few more years of wisdom, I have a better appreciation for it.

I did a little search on ol Medlok this morning and his bio talks alot about how he has created a number of solid business including some kind of Fried Chicken Chain. His education includes a Master's in Liberal Arts (I think that is what I read). It read more like a puffed up resume and qualifications list. It doesn't talk much about player representation.

You can also throw in Chapdelaine's part........refusing to design an offence for a mobile QB.....expecting Printers to turn into Dave Dickenson.

Just in case someone is compiling a moron list for this thread.....IMHO, Chapdelaine and the uncle are running neck and neck.

Yup....and let's not forget Jarious Jackson......another career ruined because he couldn't be the drop back passer required for Chapdelaine's brilliance :bang: :bang:

I would enjoy seeing Chapdelaine attempt the peg board with square, round, and triangle pegs of different sizes and trying to find the corresponding slot to fit it in. I suspect that he wouldn't adapt very well after the first one didn't fit. Still if the Lions had the execution on the OL and the RB's could hit the proper hole created, then his X and O plan would work each and every time.

To me it is almost like Chap runs those A gap runs to discourage the ability of the team to run, forcing the easy adjustment of passing the ball. The 0 - 5 start of 2011 got turned around when the run game got turned around to salvage the season and Chaps job, as IR.

Re: Return of Stefan Logan a Possibility

Iso Sofele, our backup tailback, mired on the practice roster, says in a Vancouver Sun article that Andrew Harris has been frustrated this season. Sofele would also be impacted by a potential signing of Logan.

Instead of being frustrated I see Andrew Harris being motivated against Calgary. Perhaps that is what Wally is trying to do with the talk of bringing Logan in. Logan is 32 years old and if we do get him over the border and in a Leo uniform his age makes him a short term addition.

Here is what the Vancouver Sun and Harris had to say about the matter.
Harris can read and he has an acute sense of hearing. He’s aware that the name of Stefan Logan is being floated in print, web and on the airwaves, but he was no idea whether it’s a serious intention by the Lions, a motivational spur to get the running back to “giddy-up” or a way to put everybody on notice.

“To me, if they think he’s the answer, so be it,” Harris said Tuesday after practice. “If they feel like he (Logan) can bring more opportunities and make more plays, that’s their call. If he does come in the next week or two, I just have to hope I can put enough on film that they will keep me around.”
“They don’t remember what you did two weeks ago. If you look at last week’s game, I didn’t do squat. That’s what people remember now. In football, it’s all about ‘What you’ve done for me lately
"When I went to Catholic high school in Philadelphia, we just had one coach for football and basketball. He took all of us who turned out and had us run through a forest. The ones who ran into the trees were on the football team". (George Raveling)

TSN is reporting this is a done deal. Logan will go onto to PR.

Re: Return of Stefan Logan a Possibility

I don't see how Harris can be anything but frustrated......even the wonderful and amazing John Cornish called out his oline after just ONE game of poor blocking......I can't imagine what Cornish would be like running behind the Lions' oline for an entire season......or for that matter, what Harris would be like running behind Calgary's oline (kinda makes you drool).

This is all I could find in an attempt to confirm this rumour, and even that is only listing multiple sources as saying Logan is signing. When you get this much of a push, it is likely to happen though. CFL field was made for Logan.

Re: Return of Stefan Logan a Possibility

This is how LU reported it:
The club won't make it official until his arrival. However, Logan has agreed to a practice-roster contract and arrangements are being made for the four-year NFL veteran to land Sunday, providing he has the requisite travel documents. News of the move was first reported by CKWX.
Of course, he could still pull a Ricky Foley or fail to produce a passport but it looks like a done deal.

Re: Return of Stefan Logan a Possibility

Adrian Awasom took months to get a passport because of his heritage........do we really expect Logan to expeditiously obtain a passport with the US government shutdown?

IMHO, we'll be very fortunate to see Logan in 2013.

No, but he's waterbug quick and shifty and can take it outside.

Agreed, he use to run that thick wall, then when it was closed down, bump it outside or reverse it, just depending where there was any daylight. He was the antidote to JC's anemic run game.

Re: Return of Stefan Logan a Possibility

Logan seemed to be able to deke guys out in a phone booth. You gotta be that extra bit careful to keep him in check and BEING THAT EXTRA BIT careful, opens things up for him and other Lions elsewhere......

I don't mean this as a dig on Harris. Logan seemed exciting in whatever role they used him, especially return game......
