But this is obviously true. I'm not saying anything as to the merits of the debate, but with so much talk about it, obviously if the Lions had ever done it before, they weren't going to do it this game.

The best way to ensure that crowd noise isn't a factor is to stake yourself out to an early lead. That's precisely what the Riders did.

Jer Bear - I'm not calling you out for trolling - just please have a little common sense. Would you say things like you're saying tonight to an Lions fan who's upset because their favorite team lost to their face in a bar? If not, then please think twice about hitting "submit".
Speaking of Rider-fans that piss other Rider-fans off....I'm not going to lie buddy, you're kinda starting to get on my nerves. I don't think I've made a post in the last couple of days that you haven't taken it upon yourself to critisize me afterwards. Like I've said in other threads I am not a troll by definition. I may have quite different opinions compared to everyone else on here, I also might sometimes appear "classless" as some have pointed out, but the bottom line is for the most part my posts are fairly intelligent.

You're a good sport and a classy guy, I get it and the posters here at Lionbackers get it. But you're starting to get a little annoying with your over-the top ass-kissing towards BC. If I didn't know any better I would honestly say that you're a Lions fan posing as a Rider fan. So whatever, think I'm classless and casting a bad shadow on the Rider Nation but I'm just one guy giving my humble opinion from behind a pair of fairly dark green tinted glasses.
I'm sorry you feel that way. Onwards from this point, cool? Say what you will.
Wow. That's what your brain on rye looks like, eh? Sorry Jer Bear - too many 3X rye and cokes yesterday...

Apparently Rider win + lots of rye = combative Vern.

Sorry all. Friends don't let friends post drunk. If I keep this up, I'll have to have a breathalyzer next to my keyboard...

Urban myths of the CFL:

1. BC Lions use canned noise at BC Place stadium
2. Eskimos water grass at Commonwealth stadium excessively before games.
3. Calgary Stampeders management can keep a secret
4. Rider season's ticket holders MUST make down payment with sacks of wheat.
5. Blue Bombers fans all talk like Chris Walby
6. Argos - where do I begin?
7. Hamilton's Ivor (aka I-never) Wynne Stadium has been re-named Casey Printers Stadium
8. When teams visit Montreal they are confused and upset by the "C" and "F" on the faucets
9. Jer Bear is a sentient life form

In this Rider fan's mind, this puts to rest the whole "artificial noise" debate.

As I said, innocent until proven guilty - the Lions were proved innocent tonight

I will defend the Lions organization and their fans - NO CANNED NOISE!

Well done, Lions fans, for putting up with the sh*t for so long and not climbing into a bell tower with a high powered rifle...

would you be saying the same thing if you guys had lost? Doubt it.

Well, really I think the only way to prove that there was no amplified crowd noise, is for BC to get to 120 db, whilest being monitored. hehe...

Jer Bear wrote:I'd like to think this puts an end to that debate but in reality, when the team knows that the league is monitoring the sound noise it's highly unlikely that they'd risk putting on the canned noise. Also, last year it hit 120dB in the dome (from what I've been led to believe from this site) and tonight it was 107dB at the highest. Why such the change? Perhaps no canned sound noise?
As George Black stated in his e-mail reply on Rider fans, the league does and always has monitored it. Nothing was different yesterday.

We already have 120dB. The offer to trade him for a roll of tape still stands...
