They also asked for an apology if no explanation was given. How does that warrant a fine? Wally gets away with anything he says. It is a double standard.

This is kind of like a retaliation penalty. Wally questioned the head shot that DD took as the new rules were set in place to penalize actions like that. Wally didn't say anything about the Lions participation on the Rider/Lion game, and listened a lot about what Tillman said about it. As well the league heard him argue on one side and then argue again when his team was on the other, the wheels were set in motion rather easily this time around, thus the fine again. As for the words that most likely cost him, here you go....
Eric Tillman wrote:If you're asking me to comment on the fact that the same referee (Andre Proulx) that officiated the BC/Saskatchewan game that threw no one out (from B.C.) and threw three guys out of the Hamilton/Saskatchewan game in which the film in our opinion clearly shows that there should've been no ejections…if you're asking me to comment on that, you know that I can't,"

He's not a player but I can think of an excellent example Wally Buono. I HATED :x him as the Stamps Head Coach but all that hatred dissappeared when Ackles introduced him as property of the Lions. Flip-flopping here, I liked Tillman as Lions-GM but I strongly dislke him now he's always green with envy.

I never hated Wally in Calgary; he is/was a winner, and you have to admire that.

Tillman in BC I had no feelings about, as he was new, and lucked into a GC team on that great run in '94.

Disliked him in Ottawa, then thought he was a decent enough guy after he told us some things at GC '05 about the Renegades that turned out to be more or less untrue (verified by another source formerly with the Renegades.).

He seems to be trying to ingratiate himself with 'Rider fans, possibly because his predecessor most decidedly did not. He doesn't seem to understand that he doesn't have to, they'll love him regardless, and that in the media, less is more.

Love what he said about Wally; that will haunt him for years.

When Buono was in Calgary, my only reaction to him was that his team was going to play tough football. It was going to be painful for the Lions physically, and we were virtually certain of losing the game. And that was at B.C. Place. At McMahon Stadium it would be even more of a butt-kicking for B.C.

Greg Mohns loved Wally, those were the days to enjoy, taking out the top dog and having him ejected early one game. GM sure got to Wally like no other has since.

I was watching a Lions game in Calgary on TV years ago and they had a shot of Wally on the sidelines, watching his team play, talking to his assistants. I remember being impressed with his demeanour and the play of his team, and thinking "Man, I wish the Lions had a guy like that running the team."

I was happy when he came to the Lions. Very happy. And I have been happy about it ever since.

I dunno .... he was GM and had a lot to do with the import talent assembled that year

I like ET .... after that game in Regina he just came of as a crybaby is all, I think maybe he sometimes forgets he's not a media member anymore and has to hold his tongue a little better now

Except that he's not being fair and reasonable in his assessment of the moderators in this very post, is he?

I say LET THE BOY SPEAK! I'd rather read anything wildthing has to say than certain other posters' endless demented rantings.

And frankly, I find the mods here pretty... liberal, shall we say. In a good way. You'd probably be asked to edit anything questionable LONG before you got kicked off for it.

The Mods here are great and only interfere when needed. You should have no worries of being banned here, this isn't riderfans.

In general they are, but I was confronted about the DD/Fred Perry comments I made and was warned that my trolling was being watched (I was warned through an associate board 13thman about my post here). So I leave it at this. I don't think the fines to the Rider team, Tillman and austin were justified in this case they merely asked for an explanation as to why the players were ejected, Wally questioned the Perry hit that much as well.

MAM and Jones deserved fines for the after the ejection activities, but did nothing to warrant ejection in the first place, the incident is far different from the happenings between the Leos and the Riders. McCullough being tossed is just baffling, now every o-lineman that lays on a down player has to be ejected to remain consistient (and that happens every play almost).

The incident is done and correct or not the league has now set a precedent for what needs to be ejectable, if they are consistent in future treatments of similar episodes it is all I can ask for. If they aren't well it won't be a suprise.
