And one turnover by Ryan Phillips seals the game for the Lions. Credit the defence in this one for relentlessly pressuring Ricky Ray. Call it a steal, but we'll take it.

Our field goal attempt was blocked, but Phillips picked off a duck pass and Lions are going to win.
Thank you. It's back.

How can you have a no yards call on a blocked fg? Well anyway it won't matter.

One ugly win. See Chuck McMann dressed up as a special teams coach for Halloween.

Well we didn't deserve to win that game but we got it. Our special teams is downright pathetic. That's not a professional special teams. If it happens in one game, okay, it was a bad game. But this has happened over and over again. It's unacceptable.

Offensive playcalling is bad. Way too conservative and we got away from the long ball for most of the game. Manny is our big playmaker and we went away from him for most of the first half after the second drive.

Defense was the reason we won this game. That, and Ricky Ray was horrible.

It crossed LOS after the block so on that basis it's treated like a punt for purposes of the no yards rule. Also, since it crossed LOS the block is no longer considered a fumble as it would have, had it stayed behind LOS.

There will be no special teams game ball after this one.

There has been some criticism of Harris and some of his mistakes were frustrating, but he is the rushing leader and a Canadian to boot... I remain a fan. Perhaps there will be some discussion in the post game thread?

NICE WIN LIONS!

Agree with Dunnigan, Hawkins a great addition. Jennings some rookie scary stuff but they pulled it out! Sweet!

dumb rule. it should be like a kickoff.

The Lions held Ray to 46 yards passing in the second half. Kudos to Mark Washington and Robin Ross for outcoaching Chuck McMann and George Cortez to win the game.

Like a kickoff? How so?

The rationale is that all offensive players are offside when the ball is kicked on the FGA, because they're in front of it when it was kicked (on a kickoff everyone is onside, i.e., behind the ball when it's kicked, so it's a completely different situation). That the ball was touched by an opponent in its flight off the tee is incidental to the matter. The same no yards rule is in effect for ALL MFGs, which by the way, yes, Leone will be charged with a MFG on this play because it crossed LOS. On the other earlier block that went the other way for a major, it didn't cross LOS before the Argos recovered it, so Leone won't get a punt toward his stats for that play, rather he's charged with a (lost) fumble.

We didn't so much beat the Argos as outlast them. I'm quite sure we would have come out second-best in a 62-minute game against this Argo team.
