I see Rottier missed his 3rd straight game. Did he suffer and extended elbow?

I haven't seen any updates, maybe try the Eskimo site, more likely you'll find the info there I suspect.

Re: Mitchell 2-gamed suspended for dirty play

I thought Schultz went too far. And I agree that the panel had him tried and found guilty, and hung out to dry, rallying public opinion against Mitchell.

And who can judge intent in an action in a violent game where all kinds of stuff goes on?

Not surprised to hear Mitchell say that.

Don't know what the chances of success are.

I do not believe Mitchell is a bad person. And I am glad to see him back and happy.

Re: Mitchell 2-gamed suspended for dirty play

I didnt need anybody on the tsn panel to tell me that what I saw on the field was disgusting and barbaric, and that KM deserved more than 2 games.

Schultz did not go too far. He was making a justified point that KM's guilt was undeniable slam dunk.

KM claiming that he wasnt trying to hurt anyone is pure BS.

As with Jimenez and murphy, I cant wait until KM is no longer a lion.

I think you will find yourself pretty lonely with that viewpoint. Look, he did something stupid in the heat of the moment, got caught and was punished. He deserves a shot at redemption. Now, if it were to happen again, that would be a different story but since to this point, no one seems to have heard anything else about Mitchell's play being dirty, I am willing to give him the chance to show that he can play it clean. We gave Jimenez the benefit of the doubt the first time too as I recall.

Two thumbs up.

I would have preferred KM to acknowledge that in hindsight and after the feedback from the CFLPA that he got it and understood that the play was not a good football play and that he understood that lack of remorse didn't help his case at the appeal grievance. I very much doubt if he had been expressing regret that the outcome would be less than 2 - it wouldn't.

I give him the benefit of the doubt that this was a one off heat of the moment dumb play (although I didn't hear a public expression that makes me confident about him.

I also give him a lot of credit for not pursuing NFL chances despite a chance to do that. Impressive.

These guys like Murphy and Jimenez are guys you love and accept when they are in your locker room or on the team you support - but get disliked when they move on with the legend even greater than the reality.

Re: Mitchell 2-gamed suspended for dirty play

IIRC, Mitchell was tossed from a game in 2011 for punching one of the Bomber OL in the " junk ". Not exactly a football play either.

So you could say this was strike 2 to a certain degree. Hopefully he doesn't do something foolish like this again. What's almost upsetting as what he did is the outright belief from him that he did nothing wrong.

As mentioned by others the TSN panel wasn't needed to sway opinion on thinking he had " intent ".

BTW: I see Rottier played in the Esks last game so ultimately he lost 3 games to the IR.

I view the three players quite differently. Murphy plays to the level that the game becomes, but does play between the whistles. Jimenez on the other hand, is and always will be a player that doesn't know when to draw the line, he wants to beat up his opponent no matter how he does it. As for Mitchell, his was done out of frustration of being held, he had had enough and reacted and in a split second let his emotions take over. I am confident that he will continue to be a solid CFL player and that this punishment will make him use his brains vs his emotions as the game within the game is played. Part of Jimenez's problem is that he can justify that he was innocent without penalty, and is partly why he will never grasp the responsibility of the actions he did.

Great response by Rammer...Mitchell has never shown himself to be a dirty player, just AMAZINGLY GOOD...his action was in the heat of the moment, and as a former athlete, I totally understand his emotion from being held all the time, and his reaction...what he did to the opponents arm isn't kosher, but I understand it...for Schultz to say what he did was irrational and likely simply a ploy to drive up ratings and attention.

Now Mitchell just needs to make them eat crow by his play on the field.
