Go ahead that's the role of Kent and Bowman take as OLB's. They have 11 and 18 respectively while Hefney plays an active role in run support. He's got 37 tackles.

BTW. Willis has also created forced fumbles and turnovers.

That is exactly what A51 said that Chap lacked the grey matter to discover in time for Saturdays game TLK, but I believe that he will avoid the obvious approach to prove he can do it otherwise (his way), just to spite those who know better and himself included...go figure :dizzy:

B Johnson might want to ask Lulay if he thinks Willis is 1D.

Huh?

1D Willis can rush the passer, that's it. One dimensional. Did he do anything else last night to suggest otherwise? Glenn January made more tackles than 1D Willis.

I didn't notice Willis until the fourth quarter when he hit Jarious Jackson as he released the ball, forcing it to fall incomplete. The Lions successfully used five-man protection most of the night and didn't give up a sack until the fourth quarter. Willis had no tackles and no sacks.

Clearly you don't understand the concept of pressuring the QB without necessarily making a tackle or getting a sack.

Did Lulay look comfortable in the pocket after midway through the 1st Quarter.

I saw at least two big hit by Willis on Lulay, just as the pass was released. Neither counted as a sack or a tackle.

Yeah. I guess the Bombers should have benched Willis since he was useless all game. :bang:

It is clear that Area 51 don't know Jack.

How the Bombers' D became great

Winnipeg listened to Packers and idea of a hybrid spot for game-changer Odell Willis was born

By Paul Wiecek, Winnipeg Free Press August 12, 2011

"They were fantastic. The Packers were really helpful and we brought those ideas back with us and that's kind of where the 'Jack' thing comes from."

The 'Jack' thing applies both to the hybrid defensive end/linebacker position the Bombers have created for Willis and a series of defensive schemes geared specifically to free him up to attack the quarterback. Matthews lines up predominantly as a linebacker, Willis lines up predominantly as a defensive end and no one is suggesting the latter is now on par with the former in terms of abilities.

But what is true is that both men have become arguably the most dominant defenders in their respective leagues.

With eight sacks after Week 6, Willis had one more than the entire Montreal Alouettes defence and was tied with both the Calgary Stampeders and the Toronto Argonauts.

One dimensional Willis has more sacks than Ricky Foley's entire team....lol

that may be, but i would take him on are team anytime. Look at what he has done for Winnipeg and Swaggerville.
