I chose the Chiefs because I think they will finish low in the standings, therefore be more willing to make renovations.

I figured NW's Rick Dhaliwal will be on top of the Wake developments and of course he hasn't disappointed me.
On today's noon hour sports he said the Colts and Raiders have shown the most interest to date. Wake is also expected to be heavily scouted on Friday night with the game being close to a lot of eastern-based NFL teams. Both of Wake's agents will also be attending the game.

How does the guy afford two agents workin in the cfl??? I certainly hope he stays away from the raiders, Al Davis has taken over for the late marge schott as any leagues worst owner......might need to rename him harold ballor.SammyGreene wrote:I figured NW's Rick Dhaliwal will be on top of the Wake developments and of course he hasn't disappointed me.

Just goes to show you how minor league the CFL is.
As soon as the player gets good, like Printers, he gives the CFL the middle finger and bolts for the NFL.
No wonder CTV (which owns TSN) has gotten TSN to shove the Playoff games to Saturday. CTV would rather have the CFL just go away so they can concentrate on their NFL Sundays.
You can't remain a competitive league when every time a player rises to the top he bolts for a better league.

Oh no? So the CHL is not a competative league? How bout college football??? dude, seriously shut up about the saturdays, its happened before many times, and having the cfl games away from NHL games is good for ratings and GOOD FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE LEAGUE. Cam Wake is not your precious Casey, as you see casey was unable to do anything in the nfl, i watched, he never even got a first down! the NFL is a giant, putting cfl games there is like asking to lower your ratings. Just drop it, here and on the 13th man, YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE BOTHERED BY THIS!firstdown45 wrote:Just goes to show you how minor league the CFL is.

Re: Which NFL team will Cam Wake go to?
i predict he will shock everybody and sign with the lions for about $400,000.
how will the lions afford this?
next season it will be buck and champion.
JJ will be traded freeing up $200,000
roberts likely wont be back freeing up most of the rest!
and everyone who talks to him at sports & stuff on the 11th just has to say cam we really want you to stay! That should work

I don't think there was any doubt about Freeney. He's listed at 6'1" 268# compared to Wake's 6'3" 241. To me a tweener would be a guy a bit too big for a prototypical LB but too small for a DE. Wake is actually really closer to LB size and undersized for a DE. If Freeney was considered a tweener the Colts would never have used the 11th overall pick. They drafted him as a DE all the way and obviously have been getting the sort of results one would expect out of such a high pick. Julius Peppers was the only DE taken higher than Freeney in 2002.Tighthead wrote:I wonder how freely a scout will speak about someone - there may be some smokescreening in his comments. Dwight Freeney was considered to have tweener size, and he has worked out for the Colts.

Re: Which NFL team will Cam Wake go to?
When Freeney was picked though, there was a broad spectrum of opinion on him. Some teams thought he was a sure thing, other teams thought he was just a quick undersized college player who would get manhandled at the NFL level. He is still pretty small for a DE, and obviously the Colts made a smart choice. This link may work:Hambone wrote:I don't think there was any doubt about Freeney. I think Wake is closer to 255-260 now, which is big linebacker sized.
I just thought the tweener comment was maybe a bit of a smokescreen - with all the defensive packages, etc, tweeners have more of a role than they used to. Chris Wilson is a tweener type, and plays regularly. Some safeties play LB on passing downs, ends move to tackle. etc.

I'm telling Cam that I really want to buy his jersey and to also support such a great store so he better sign an extension so I can do both and make everybody happy!sports & stuff----ric wrote:i predict he will shock everybody and sign with the lions for about $400,000.

You might want to use a better example. Wally and the Lions have been thanking Jason Medlock ever since.firstdown45 wrote:As soon as the player gets good, like Printers, he gives the CFL the middle finger and bolts for the NFL.
Of course! Now I get it. It's CTV's fault that the NFL's TV contracts pay them over $1.5 billion per season making NFL bare minimum rookie salary better than anything any non-QB CFL player can ever dream of making. Naturally CTV wants the CFL to go away. Why else would they let TSN sign a new deal for exclusive CFL rights to the tune of $16million annually? Ya don't think if the CFL was such a drain on them they wouldn't just keep their money and let the CBC have the CFL? If CTV or CBC can find a way to pay something like $200million for the rights to CFL football so salary caps can jump to $45 million then CFL teams can starting paying enough money to keep guys from wanting to try the NFL.firstdown45 wrote:No wonder CTV (which owns TSN) has gotten TSN to shove the Playoff games to Saturday. Re: Which NFL team will Cam Wake go to?
Smith didn't get a $90K signing bonus. He was paid $90K of his salary up front. At the end of the day he still makes $140K including that $90K. It was effectively an advance, not a bonus.JohnHenry wrote:We gave Joe Smith a $90K signing bonus last season.

We should all just pool together $20 per member and then take it down on the 11th and say it's his "pre" signing bonus.
