Very true. They do not sell out Key Arena for their Seattle Thunderbirds games. Speaking of which, the Thunderbirds will be moving to a new arena in the distant suburb of Kent in 2008:

and Kent is farther away from Seattle than Renton. GoogleMaps shows Renton is 10 miles away from Seattle (straight line dist.), Kent is 16 miles

Yeah, almost as far as Seattle to Everett. They might as well rename the team the Kent Thunderbirds.

KOMO radio reported this morning that three sources indicate that the Sonics actually broke even financially last season.

So something really fishy is going on here...
