was it? .... rings were not as coomon then as now ... they did have 63 rings and in 64 they got a mini grey cup. It's a great jesture by the club but I don't think it should be viewed as righting a wrongRobbie wrote:I guess that's minimal redemption for a reward that was presented 42 years late.

When Quesdad gets his 2006 Waterboys ring I'll post a picture of it.
We'll see if any of Photog's tips will help me take a decent pic of it.

Totally agree. The awarding of rings to champions is a fairly recent phenomena. I don't think the CFL, NHL or NFL were awarding rings back in the 60'sD wrote:was it? .... rings were not as coomon then as now ... they did have 63 rings and in 64 they got a mini grey cup. But according to:

all the Super Bowl winning teams starting with the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl I in 1967 received rings. Prior to that, the A.F.L. and N.F.L. champions received rings as ewll.

Well, I was responding to LK's point about the NFL and championship rings. Such rings were not too popular in the in the 1960's, but some teams still provided them.
