I think they can add seating in the end-zones for soccer.
If the Lions' sell as many tickets tomorrow and Sunday as the day before and gameday in '04 the game will sell-out.
Depending how many tickets sell tonight, it may be singles only by tomorrow night.

Yes it was when the lions play thier first exhibition games against calgary i was also there , there was 54,000 there but that was right after the whitecaps game and i remember a lot of fans were not even football fans they jusy wanted to see Bc Place. It was someting when it was first built i remember you had to go on a waiting list of 5,000 people just to even have a chance to go the whitecaps game if you did not get tickets right away.

I think tonight and tomorrow people will realize it's high east end-zoner's or nothing. Again $ 29 plus fees price will help move the remaining tickets along.

I walked by the Stadium and the tarps are gone, only the BC Lions Championship banners that hang from the roof, as opposed to covering seats. In those sections, the Rows will cut off at TT, so if we're at Row KK now we have 8 more rows to fill (Rows II and OO are omitted).
Sec 29 is flying and that's right behind the east goalpost so no section is being omitted.
That in itself would not be the reason for 900 less seats. It is mysterious. When the new scoreboard videoscreen was installed they did take out some seats but not that many.
When a company called Bezanson installed all the seats in 1982, they stated in the Stadium Souvenir program that the seat installation involved 59,773 seats (I assume including the suites).
On June 19, 1983 for the Whitecaps - Sounders game, one end zone had seats down to Row A. If you look at the end zones now, the first row where the railing is starts at Row G (Rows A - F are the bleacher rows); the first 6 rows of seats are bleachers which are removable.
These bleacher end zone sections are never in for a CFL game due to the bigger end zones; otherwise you wouldn't have enough clearance in the end zone and a player could end up crashing through a partition.
One set of end zone bleachers was installed for that June 19, 1983 Whitecaps - Sounders game due to the smaller size of a soccer field vs. the CFL field, which accounted for an extra 570 seats and thus threw the attendance up to 60,342, the biggest ever crowd in the dome.
One half of one end of those bleacher seats can be removed to make room for one dugout for a baseball game (on the side where the Baseball Media Boxes are on the corner, Sec 6 - 9 app.)
For an NFL game, due to the 10 less yards at center and smaller end zones, those 2 end zone bleacher sections, which account for 1,100 seats can be reinstalled, bringing seating capacity closer to 61,000.
This has never been done.
However, one would hope if we ever do host a regular season NFL game next year that this could be done. Seating capacity in this arrangement would be about 61,000.
any questions, fire away...

I had wondered about the end-zone bleacher areas. I think I have seen those areas full of seats at the Metrodome and the Hoosierdome.
So - I assume that the bottom of those temporary bleacher sections are not flush with the sections on either side?!?!
I guess they would have gone in for baseball (at least on the west side - that's the 1st base line, no?).

I don't think there's any reason to stop them from taking down those blue tarps and the GC/WF banners if they sell enough tickets.

I hope that there is sufficient security and concessions on hand to handle this size of crowd.
