Re: CFL Games of September 30 and October 1

I have to agree with LU. Montreal, Edmonton (hope I'm wrong), Calgary and Hamilton.

Riders getting smoked by the Stampeders. 37 - 3

A Miller hangover for the Riders? I would have to say the brats who pushed Marshall and Berry out are getting what they deserve.

Now they look tired and disinterested.

Yes it looked awful. Burris was in giddy-mode. Fun, fun, fun let's be all friendly while my team does whatever it wants. Its surprising though, he doesn't like that kind of attitude when its him/his team getting handed their lunch.....

The Riders were a lot tougher under Roy Shivers and Danny Barrett. Now they play like their coach, mild mannered nice guy Ken Miller. Well, nice to the players, not so nice to the guy he fired, Greg Marshall.

The firing of Greg Marshall and his Offensive Coordinator had a positive impact for a couple of games. Now it's back to the same old, same old.

Under Marshall they were 20.6 PFPG and 31.6 PAPG. Getting outscored 82-8 in their last eight quarters is actually *worse* than same old, same old.
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

The Calgary running game with Cornish wow.. it seems that the same ghosts that Blitz says came to haunt Chappy must have got to Dicky D.

Loss by the Riders looks good on Miller and his team.

Quite frankly the players who started running the hen house are the problem. As Wally would say ... it is execution. Miller gases Marshall and now is getting the real Riders losing for him too.

Miller don't look too smart now. I said it before. When Tillman left the Riders started on the path downward. His leadership and GMship was where it all started in the Rider resurgence. Taman, Miller and how the goofy structure was fine but now is proving not to be up to the task.

Montreal defeating Winnipeg ... One would have expected a close game.

Lions defeating Edmonton ... not a surprise. The Lions rolling. But the Eskimos came to play also.

Calgary stamping the Riders ... the Riders being a no-show, a surprise.

TiCats defeating the Argos ... not a surprise. Argos on life support.

Looks like TiCats, Lions, Alouettes and Eskimos to me. A week for the favourites.

Bombers and Stampeders could upset.

Bombers, Lions, Als and Riders.

And I'll be upset if the Stamps upset this week......

TiCats got dismantled, for such a talented team they sure do not show a whole lot of fight.

Suspect:

Riders beat the Esks
Als beat the Argos

It's against the riders. It's also the only thing either offense has done all game.

Re: CFL Games of October 7, 8 and 10

It seems to be official now. The Riders suck.

Darian Durant be careful what you wish for. What you agitate for. Ken Miller be careful about wanting players to love you. Better to go for respect. For the rest of the league, it looks kind of good. As long as those fans are willing to take all those losses and keep on supporting, it's all good.
