Both my picks were wrong today (Cardinals and Chargers both won) but this was one of those games. A break here/there and the Chargers win in regulation!!! Hope you enjoyed this Charger win.

I certainly did enjoy the Charger win, I wll admit we were all acepting defeat here ad they pulled it out. Was a great game for the neutral spectator, even better fpr the Chargers fans.

Todays games were okay. Definately preferred the Vikings/Eagles tilt out of the two matchups.

As for next weekend, I HATE the Steelers but still enjoy watching their games (if that makes sense). I like the Chargers but I personally haven't had much faith based on how their season started. I doubt I'm going to regret saying this but I think any team save the Cardinals could win out.

The Dolphins had a good season, and were a great story, but I bet they slip to somewhere between 7-9 and 9-7 next year. Recent history seems to indicate that when teams make a turnaround, they ususally slip back a bit in the second season.

The Chargers game was a great one. I love it when it doesn't end on a field goal, but with a TD. Indy whined about penalties, but they seemed clear to me.

1 out of 4 for me. 2 favourites got knocked out: Colts and Falcons. And the Fins ran into the Ravens, the team that can stop the Wildcat.

Tom Jackson said pregame that he thinks the Eagles are as dangerous this year as the Giants were last year. He might have something there.

I'll post some odds for next weekend in a day or two.

The biggest issues for the Eagles are that Reid can get a little goofy in games, often going pass crazy. I also think the Giants might be able to run the ball down their throats effectively.

Giants or Panthers, Steelers or Titans would be best to watch for me, although Ravens are decent to watch as well.

NFL Playoff Game Spreads 1/10 - 1/11, 2009

Date & Time Favorite Spread Underdog

1/10 4:30 ET At Tennessee -3 Baltimore

1/10 8:15 ET At Carolina -10 Arizona

1/11 1:00 ET At NY Giants -4 Philadelphia

1/11 4:45 ET At Pittsburgh -6 San Diego
I'll take Pittsburgh (has Big Ben recovered enough?),

the Giants (head knocker of a game),

the Panthers (Kurt Warner could make for an upset),

and the Titans (tough to go against the Ravens defense).

Goin' with the favourites. Takin' the easy route. But there is almost always an upset somewhere.

I assume picks involve the spread:

Baltimore

Carolina

Eagles

Chargers

Not many explosive teams - should be close games so I will take the points.

Except I think the Cards are toast.

My picks are
Ravens BEAT Titans
Carolina Win/Cover Cardinals
Steelers win but don't cover Chargers
Giants Win/Cover Eagles

Other than my obvious DOG (the Ravens), I think the Steelers are most ripe for an upset. I watched the 11-10 Steeler win over the Chargers earlier this season. I just don't think the Steeler offence has looked that great but their D is not one I'd want to face.

I really didn't like the Eagles either. I hope this is a typical game for the Division but I won't be surprised to see the Giants win by doubledigits.

This is going to be one sweet weekend for watching NFL football.

My picks,

Ravens - Alot of people I talk to are taking Titans, but they depend alot on ground movement to score, the Ravens have not given up much more then 100 yds for over 35 games...

Chargers - The Steelers could likewise be trouble for the Chargers. They have been great at stopping the run all year so Sproles may not find as many holes  They are admittedly a homer pick.

Carolina - Bro-in-law is from Phoenix, I always bet against the Cards hehe

Giants - The matchup I know least about, but I gotta pick one :beauty:

The game right now is pretty solid. The teams are well matched.

Is it possible for Carolina to be this bad? Smith can't get the ball at all and Delhomme has thrown 4 picks and fumbled?

8-8 Arizona on to play Eagles or Giants...whoda thunk it?

I thought the Cardinals were one and done before the playoffs. I still am not sold they are going to do much. I know, they won TWO more playoffs games than I thought they would but the Cardinals are STILL the team I think has the least chance of winning the Superbowl.
