Does this mean Adams’s injury is more serious than we’ve heard?

It also may be an indication that Kelly is definitely coming back to Toronto, though everyone has been very tight-lipped about that. If he wasn’t, the Argos would have been the other obvious choice for Rourke.

Great move. Now beat the crap out of the Bombers this weekend.

Why is everyone smiling so much?

Do you think there is a possibility that the Adams injury is a bit more serious than has been reported and Rourke might have an option to leave at the end of the year if he puts up decent numbers and maybe a Grey Cup? The Lions would than retain VA.

Not very realistic but just a thought.

Wow. I did not see this happening today! Possibly in the off-season, but not today.

I love VA but Nathan is a real fan favourite in this market so great day for the organization.

I just hope there is not a QB controversy within the locker room. I know the guys just want to win but a number of them are loyal to VA.

DH

VA is noticeably limping so I'd say whatever it is is serious but knowing his history, if pressed he'd back in playing ASAP. Rourke would make that less likely he'd have to be forced back too early as he knows the offense but has to adjust and get on track so it's not going to be a cakewalk.

Some on X said Farhan had said that the Lions contacted Redblacks about Masoli. I didn't see it or maybe he said on TSN.

I doubt there's going to be any QB controversy in the locker room as every player wants to keep their job and when you're losing players know they're looking to find the reasons and they won't be firing a coach - just a player or two if they are not winning.

Listen to the Elks and Argos players on the QB changes and they're loyal to whoever is winning for them.

I suppose that it is a possibility but he did sign a 3 year contract. That shows he's committed to the Lions.

I think all of us longtime diehards knew if he was coming back to CFL it had to be BC regardless of how well VA was playing. This franchise was burned when Flutie signed with the Stamps and no way could they afford a B.C. born generational talent play elsewhere and haunt this franchise for years.

Feel as happy for Doman along with the marketing and ticketing teams as I do for his potential impact in black and orange again.

It’s momentum and excitement the club needed after a real tough 3 weeks on the field.

Did VA’s injury speed up his return here? Maybe but probably the sour taste of being waived by 2 NFL teams in as many weeks did as well.

Will he be wearing his familiar #12 at practice tomorrow? I’m sure Brice will make the switch.

I definitely think he's committed to the Lions given all his recent and past statements and the fact that he trains with Rob Williams in North Van.

Also, I too hope that he's back in the CFL for his career and puts the NFL behind him and now realizes he's needs a body of work that includes a few Grey Cups to get any genuine attention down south.

3 year contract or not, it's no secret the CFL teams all let players go if they want to pursue an NFL shot. Not sure how firm I'd be with Rourke if I were the Lions GM cohorts negotiating his contract.

This should boost ticket sales.

Will he be ready to play this week is a good question?

Good thing it's a home game.

The CBA with CFLPA allows all players an off-season window to accept an NFL offer regardless of their contract status. So the NFL still remains an option for Rourke every off season for the next 3 years. The reason why the Lions would want him signed for at least 3 years is so they will retain his CFL rights if he takes another shot at the NFL but doesn't stick.

Replace an injured player with someone who gets injured when he puts the wrong foot on the ground when he walks out his front door?

According to the Moj Bob Marjanovich Campbell has said that Rourke will take all of the starters reps at practice this week.

Wow !!! - an awesome signing. And Nathan is familiar with much of the Lions offence - system and players - and will be in top shape from participating in NFL practices.

A 1-2 punch at QB in a GC hosting year - can't beat that. And as much as VA has been great at times he is also prone to bad games - i've always liked Adams but what Rourke showed in 22 was off the charts outstanding = he is the better QB talent IMO (and didn't really need to show his mobility / run threat that much that season, but he has it and should make it a bigger part of his CFL game IMO). These 2 QBs talents supporting each other could be great; and one or the other could get injured down the stretch.

Now, if only Betts would return to the real football Lions.

Question already answered on team website. Rourke will be wearing his familiar #12 jersey tomorrow. Brice has switched to 7.
A lot of happy fans who purchased his jersey in 2022.
