Holy smokes! And now Metchie heading to the Elks. That’s 9 high quality nationals they will have under contract.

Lions signed American Defensive Lineman Dewayne Hendrix, who was recently released by the Tiger Cats, to avoid a $20,000 offseason roster bonus. Looks like a good signing. Hendrix was one of the highest paid linemen in the CFL last year and had a pretty good season.

Elks cap a massive day by signing Jake Ceresna. That gives them 3 members of the Argos d-line joining Brinkman & Brown, along with safety Metchie.
They will have nine very good nationals under contract including 6 on offence.

Elks not done yet re-signing Nyles Morgan which is a good re-signing. Curious who gets cut adrift by the additions.

Well one can start by looking at their list of pending FAs in the FA Tracker. They have 28 players listed. Counting Morgan they've extended 4. That leaves 24 still unsigned, most of any club. I'm guessing they don't intend on keeping many of those.

No surprise on Greene being more valued by another team. I just didn't know which one.

Farhan saying Hatcher has been released. Both sides were working on a restricted deal, but couldn't come to terms....

Reports that DB Deontai Williams has agreed in principle to a two-year deal with the B.C. Lions.

Big loss. I expect Rhymes and Rourke to be reunited. Lawler maybe?

Not sure I've ever seen a CFL GM be so productive or active or how ever you want to term it, right from the get-go of free agency, as Mr. Ed has done now.

A whole pile of quality starters, including 5 top notch Canadians (J-Grant, Ford, Beard, R. Smith & Metchie).

They also - like all teams (IMO) - retain quite a bit of talent from last year's roster - like those 2 young LB studs, and those 2 dangerous running backs.

Going to be a very interestin' season in EE land: new, rookie HC (an Alberta guy); can Tre Ford step-it up as a quality starting QB? All this new FA talent. Hope they can erase the stink of that clown-show hiring of Chris Jones.
