Rourke has zero confidence. He won’t throw the ball

So every team in the CFL has to get effed by the command centre?

Once again the lack of an O and D line comes to bite this team. Same problems the last 5+ years. Other teams seem to make personal changes for the positive and Lions fail each year.

It has been an issue for years and years. No one will do anything about it. The line play is just horrific.Larry Key wrote: Sun Aug 18, 2024 6:37 pm Once again the lack of an O and D line comes to bite this team. Same problems the last 5+ years. 5-5 and 4 of last 8 against Montreal and Ottawa.

The correct call was made. Asking a lot of the receiver there and just didn't quite complete the catch.Belize City Lion wrote: Sun Aug 18, 2024 6:35 pm So every team in the CFL has to get effed by the command centre?
Out-coached again today. From the decision to start Rourke to how the game played out.

Every second game seems to have a play like this now. It's getting out of hand.Belize City Lion wrote: Sun Aug 18, 2024 6:35 pm So every team in the CFL has to get effed by the command centre?

If you consider this game as an extended practice scrimmage, it's not as bad. We just need to make the playoffs and we have a shot.

It's garbage time, but maybe they should have put Brice in earlier for a couple of series to give Rourke a chance to settle down and watch.

I don't know. If one MOP level QB plays against a team and gets zero points, and another MOP level QB plays against a team and gets 3 points, maybe the QB isn't the problem.
Re: Bombers at Lions, Aug. 18, 2024
Nice cameo by Brice, made some throws and accounted for a score. Campbell needs to have more faith in him while Rourke settles in,, which frankly might take longer than the team can afford.
Re: Bombers at Lions, Aug. 18, 2024
You can’t discount the value of practice. Rourke started with confidence and made some quick throws but a couple of missed opportunities killed drives, and that seemed to kill his confidence, He was taking too much time processing his reads and made a lot of weak throws into coverage. One practice with his key receivers, and three practices overall, wasn’t enough. You could see the difference when Brice entered the game and processed his reads and threw with confidence.
The offensive line and the defence played well, and the Lions out-rushed the Bombers for a change. It was just a lack of timing and confidence in the passing game.
It will be interesting to see what happens next week if VA is healthy. He still gives the Lions their best chance to win.
