It was a good game. Lots of back and forth. It could be (and has been) argued that the 49ers were the stronger team overall on paper, but clearly not at the most important position, quarterback. Patrick Mahomes was his usual brilliant self when he needed to be (like going 8 for 8 on the game-winning drive), and Brock Purdy was pretty ordinary, completing only 61% of his passes (as opposed to Mahomes’s 74% for 333 yards). The box score also favored the Chiefs, with 455 total yards to the 49ers’ 382. I think it could be said that the better team (yesterday) won the game.

For those interested, here is Peter King’s post-Super Bowl FMIA column for today. As King says, we seem to have left the era of Tom Brady and entered that of Patrick Mahomes.

As a diehard Seahawks fan (most of whom hate the 49ers with a passion!), I'm surprised to have felt this way, but I was hoping for a 49ers win. I don't think dynasties are generally a good thing for the sport, but it looks as if we might have one with the Chiefs.

The stats on Mahomes after 114 games compared to Brady at this stage are setting up nicely to have this comparison going on for Mahomes' entire career.

Some of the defensive pass protection by the Chiefs was as good as it gets in football with knockdowns that weren't questioned as possible PI calls. They should be used in training videos for DBs.

There were times when I felt SF play selection could have been better in the second half and others times of their brilliance!
In the first half KC wasn't using Kelce much and some of their play calls then weren't all brilliant. It changed in the second half.

Ironically, late the in the game the runs by Mahomes were questionable calls but with no spy on him, they ended up brilliant as he ran on 4th, 1st and 3rd successfully. The design of the winning play on the TD was brilliant.

Sideline drama with Kelce bumping his coach as in the first half he was on the sidelines during the fumble deep in SF end looked worse than it was. The other incident too.
I forget the REC's name who was at it with Mahomes on the sidelines after the failed out pass at the goal line when he was wide open running a post and Mahomes didn't see him.

SF injuries like the guy's achille going as the D were running on the field no doubt hurt them as they seemed to take the brunt of it.

Tony Romo is gettiing hammered on Twitter for his commentary during the OT especially not letting Jim Nantz make the call on the play.
10 seconds is a lifetime in football was kind of crazy and was getting me confused as to what he was talking about.

Too bad that the Kansas City Chiefs celebration parade was marred by a mass shooting killng 1 and injuring at least 21 others. Gunmen were 2 juveniles.

Seahawks paid Geno Smith $12.7 million to retain him for the 2024 season. But there's still a small chance that he may be traded for salary cap issues.

Yeah, Robbie. It apparently started by some guy looking at another guy the wrong way! Can you believe it? Here's the story:
