The Lions have added American Kicker Nick Vogel from the University of Alabama Birmingham. He has entered COVID quarantine protocol.

Since he has to Quarantine he will not play on Friday. It puts more pressure on Jimmy C to do well on Friday. If he kicks poorly again he likely will be cut. Lions giving him one more chance.

That is a pretty crappy position to be in as a player but it is a tough business sometimes. Even if he puts together one good game, it isn't like the Lions aren't going to want to give this new guy a try especially if they lose this next game and the rest of the season is meaningless. It likely that good or bad JC is probably done with this team unless the other guy turns out to be just as bad. Either way, going into the off season, the Lion's are going to be looking to address this situation and unless someone rises to the top, nobody will be back next year.
Tell me how long must a fan be strong? Ans. Always.

This guy could be one and done. Barely made a 19 yard FG that I initially thought was wide. Missed a pair of 32 yard converts from straight on. Interesting his and Camacho’s kicks all leaked to the right.
How can Flintoft doing all the duties be any worse?
After signing Castillo, Winnipeg released a national (Ferrera) that went 7 for 9 with the Riders in 2019. Again the bar isn’t very high here

The Lions are in major rebuild mode and don't have the roster depth in a number of areas to use an American as a FG kicker. And now they have failed with a Global and 2 American kickers, all rookies.
Might as well bring back Yamasaki as he has a strong leg and can kick wide from a greater distance.
