#1 overall.
Who is pulling the trigger and what will they do. Assume it will be Rick Campbell at the mike.
Factor in that they are obligated to sign for $54,000. Maybe they grab a kicker from Barcelona?
Seems like zero interest across the land.

Geroy Simon seems to be pleased with the available crop of draftees. And JC Abbott seems to be keenly interested and knowledgeable, given his series of articles on topic at 3DownN. In this particular one focused on linebackers he suggests he'd not be surprised if the Leos picked a linebacker, given that a couple of the top guys are ready to play at least on special teams. And "ready to play" was the number one criterion cited by Geroy. We shall see. https://3downnation.com/2021/04/14/cfl- ... nebackers/
The Lions selected Australian punter Jake Ford with the first overall pick in the global draft.

Despite a lot of pre-draft talk about an improved crop of global positional players in this draft, four Australian punters were taken in the first round. In addition to B.C.'s selection of Jake Ford first overall, Montreal selected fellow Australian punter Joseph Zema, Calgary picked Cody Grace and Hamilton picked Joel Whitford.
The five positional players selected were OL Steven Nielsen of Denmark by way of Eastern Michigan (Edmonton), DB Tigie Sankoh of Great Britain (Toronto), LB Les Maruo of Japan (Winnipeg), RB Christopher Ezeala of Germany (Saskatchewan) and WR Anthony Mahoungou of France (Ottawa).

With their second pick, the Lions selected the only Chinese player in the draft, LB/DE Boqiao Li, who played in NCAA Division II at the University of Charleston and became China’s first and only National Football League International Player Pathway inductee.

10 out of 36 players chosen were kickers or punters. I've lost track of what the roster requirements are but if the globals are in addition to the 21 NATS, 20 Americans and 3 QBs then we may be seeing teams looking at Globals to handle kicking chores to free up spots for NAT and American positional players.
You're as old as you've ever been and as young as you're ever going to be.

Here's a post-draft look from JC Abbott, who is quite an enthusiast for the global guys selected round the legue. https://3downnation.com/2021/04/15/2021 ... -analysis/
there was a running back with incredible measurable (size and speed)... didn't see him drafted. can't remember his name. I can google it.
wonder if it was questionable measurable or maybe intense NFL interest... I think with intense NFL interest, it's always worth a 3rd rounder or something like that. I am thinking main CFL draft, but same principles for global CFL draft.

It looks like the Lions did their homework by drafting Chinese LB/DE Boqiao Li in the second round as an edge rusher. He is not only well spoken in English but has family connections to Vancouver and Simon Fraser University, and loves the city. Matt Baker posted this video interview on bclions.com with Li from Beijing:
