At Season's End, What Should Happen?

1) Fire Ed Hervey & New GM decides fate of coaches

I'm assuming you mean Geroy Simon. Not sure he's ready for that role but who knows. He knows talent. Ed Hervey sure isn't much in the media - something sadly lacking since Wally left.

I still think Wally should be the President.

Lulay would be a good coach for sure. He has all the earmarks of potential HC.

Claybrooks might be forced to double.

It was pretty self evident as I couldn't think of a Gerry in the Leos football ops group lol

Autocorrect on my phone drives me crazy as sometimes I type without my glasses and don't see it's changed it.

I'd love to Lulay as a coach in BC as he has the disposition to be a HC.

Of the current Lions crop, I can tell you from what I see at Lions practices that Nik Lewis is a good coach and teacher and of players - actually heard/saw one entire conversation and teaching moment as the Wayne Moore was in a drill with Rutley catching punts but letting the tosses hit his chest and immediately Nik came over to point out the issues. What surprised me though is how you can get that high in football and not know - not to take a punt in off the chest but to guide it in with your hands. But many of these guys didn't start football at 7 or 8 or 9 and didn't get to play multiple positions or didn't play the game we played as kids - YARDS..

At seasons end some changes need making unless it really gels together quickly.

MOST IMPORTANTLY at this moment is the quality of leadership in the players on ST s and the DEF. It's lacking so far.

I watched Lewis run some drills in training camp. He definitely did not look out of place as a coach with the way he engaged with the players. Some might question why a HOF receiver would be coaching running backs but so many of the skills required of a CFL RB are also required by a CFL receiver, especially one like Lewis. Things like properly receiving passes, protecting the ball as a ball carrier, reading a defense to be able to pick up a block to protect the QB, blocking for a ball carrier. Those are all transferable skills between RB and SB. In reference to Lewis engaging with Moore on fielding punts I doubt many of us think of Lewis as a returner given his size for most of his career. However he was used as a returner in his rookie season in Calgary chalking up 27 punt returns. 2 KO returns and a MFG return. He also set a Southern Arkansas record in his senior year with 450 punt return yards earning All-Conference and All-American considerations. He knows what he's talking about in that area.

Not realistic, but Option 3 with the nuclear option. The entire organisation needs a reboot from ownership down.
