Lions vs. Argos Game Day Thread

2PCA fails from the 8YL, remains 7-6 Tor.
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

Agree. Frustratingsj-roc wrote:Allen plunges in from the one to make it 7-6. Lulay in for the 2PC (why do they keep bringing him in cold like this?) and it's a TCV.
How stupid can you get ..than a time count violation on a 2 point convert attempt...and then not kick it when you get a penalty. Sometimes Wally drives me nuts in games. He is in a different dimension.David wrote:Not sure why you wouldn't want to play it safe in that instance and tie the ball game. Especially after taking a penalty (time count).

"When I went to Catholic high school in Philadelphia, we just had one coach for football and basketball. He took all of us who turned out and had us run through a forest. The ones who ran into the trees were on the football team". (George Raveling)
Nothing is safe with Leone. I'd go for 2 on every TD. If you make half of them (which the Lions have this year), it's like kicking 100%. If you make the league average of 60%, you come out ahead. (Sorry for sounding like a broken record on this topic.)David wrote:Not sure why you wouldn't want to play it safe in that instance and tie the ball game. Leone has been purrfect on conversions this year. Unlike last year where it was an adventure

Poor directional punt by Leone
.... but go 2 & out and score a rouge on the ensuing Leone punt to tie 7-7.TheLionKing wrote:Lions should get good field position after the Argo punt

Couple drops including a big one by Manny but Jennings just 62 yards passing in 1st half. Advantage Stubler. Nothing has come easy. No quick strikes.
