Lions did get better with the Logan addition, that solidified the running game beyond expectations, and brought Harris back into play. However, rankings are based upon the entire season, and especially the stats that seem to suggest that the Lions are less than average. Calgary was tenderized by the Lions in the final season game, so much so that I suspect that either of Saskatchewan or BC would have had an easier time against them than they did against one another.DanoT wrote:I'd rate the Lions as the 3rd best team in the CFL. A team that mostly under achived was epitomized in the WSF as they were as good as or better than the opponent for 3/4 of the game but didn't have the finish and couldn't get it done in the fourth quarter. Yet they gave the Riders a tougher tighter game than Calgary or Hamilton in the playoffs/GC.
Too bad that the Lions couldn't close out a game that they had in the palm of their hands, yet that isn't uncommon for a Wally Buono based team.
