It is with Championship Pride that I invite YOU – our loyal season ticket holders to an EXCLUSIVE BC Lions season ticket holder event – “KICKOFF 2012”.
With only a few weeks until training camp begins, we invite you to join us at BC Place, the place PRIDE calls home on Saturday, May 12 from 2pm until 4pm as we give you a preview of some of the exciting things to look forward to in the 2012 CFL season.
It's a chance for you to hear from Vice President & General Manager Wally Buono, all the latest team news from Head Coach Mike Benevides and myself on everything BC Lions as we prepare to win the 100th Grey Cup with PRIDE in Toronto. You'll also meet some of our players, get photos and autographs, have the opportunity to be on the best field turf in the CFL, and receive a behind the scenes tour of the Lions locker room.
For the first time, the brand new 2012 BC Lions sideline apparel will be unveiled by our players and Felions in a ‘fashion show’. Afterwards, this new gear will be exclusively available to our season ticket holders at the stadium.
“KICKOFF 2012” is a season ticket holder only event – just one of the many benefits to being part of our Lions team and family!
You are the best fans in the CFL and we look forward to having you in the stands for another exciting season of Lions Football.
Thank you for your outstanding support and Go Lions Go!

I am excited for everyone back in Vancouver...sounds like a great event...I am so pumped for camp to open...I am particularly excited to see our ex-Argo additions and how Reilly and Leonard look behind centre!

I had a great time at the Kickoff event yesterday. I had never seen the Lions dressing room before, smaller than I thought it would be.
The autograph line-up I wasn't able to make it through had Reilly, Lulay, Reid and Hamster-Reis! IIRC, Reilly throws right handed but he was signing autographs left handed.
Its always cool to have a quick chat while a player is giving you his autograph.
Definately think this idea of having a special event for season ticket holders so we can pick up our tickets etc....
Loved the videos (especially the 100th Grey Cup video). to quote a short passage "it takes 12 men to win it, it takes 13 men to lose it" had everybody in the audience chuckling.....

Extremely well organized event. They paid attention to the finest details, including Coach Bene handing out flower bouquets to all Moms leaving.
* only Lionbacker I saw there was Aaron (Thefanwiththeflag). I am sure there were many more of you though.
* Guess-timating about 1,000+ ST holders turned out under glorious sunny skies. Great to see the roof open.
* Dennis Skulsky held court for quite a bit of the time - very infomative. There will be a 100th Anniversary Lions coin and Lions stamp this year (oops, was I supposed to leak that?). A couple of great videos were shown on the big screen. 100th Anniversary of Grey Cup and a Lions one that highlighted the rich history of the club.
* Coach Bene gave a very motivational speech about the importance of BC's fans, and thanking us. Players "modelled" new garb (very funny bit!) and answered emailed questions from fans.
* Autograph line was too long, so skipped that bit, opting for the locker room tour instead.
* My buddy and I talked to Dennis Skulsky on the locker room tour. My buddy is a big tailgater - owns 4 season tickets; a fan but not a die-hard like us and that is a big part of his game-day experience. When we asked if there would be any tailgating, Skulsky gave us an unequivocal "no." He wasn't a dick about it, but said it's too difficult due to liability, cutting into PavCo's beer sales, a trend that is diminishing in N.A. etc. The club is not even pursuing it for fans. My friend just wants a place to barbecue before the game with his wife and kids, not drink his face off.

Roar, You Lions, Roar
Coach Benny also threw a couple of one liners at the Green Riders and their umm...counting abilities.notahomer wrote:

Coach Benny was quite friendly. In fact every single person in the Lions organization I encountered seemed to genuinely appreciate us. If they were just putting on a show, they are great actors. But they weren't acting, IMO, they were too sincere.
I am all for the Lions wanting to represent ALL of BC but at the same time, I'm glad they appreciate the contributions made by their season ticket holders too.
It just feels like football is around the corner. I keep my game tickets clipped under a fridge magnet. So everytime I go into the kitchen to get a glass of water or put the kettle on or grab a snack, I get to see those football tickets, ready to go.........

Russ Gordon (donefron) was also there. You can hear him from a mile away.
