Elimimian sacked Saskatchewan Roughriders’ quarterback Darian Durant in the first quarter for an 11-yard loss. Elimimian’s strong defensive contribution helped the Lions break their five-game losing streak with a 24-11 win over the Riders on Friday night.
Gibson’s Finest CFL Special Teams Player of the Week
Larry Taylor
WR/KR – Calgary Stampeders
Calgary Stampeders’ wide receiver and kick returner Larry Taylor has been named Gibson’s Finest CFL Special Teams Player of the Week. In the Stamps’ 32-20 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Taylor registered four punt returns for 63 yards, including a 42-yarder, and returned two kickoffs for 58 yards. His longest kickoff return was for 30 yards. Taylor also recorded four receptions for 37 yards and a touchdown against the Ticats on Saturday night.
Gibson’s Finest CFL Canadian Player of the Week
Jerome Messam
RB – Edmonton Eskimos
Edmonton Eskimos’ running back Jerome Messam has been awarded Gibson’s Finest CFL Canadian Player of the Week for the second time this season. In the Esks’ 28-16 loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday evening, Messam registered 50 yards on eight carries and four receptions for 31 yards. Messam’s longest carry, a 17-yarder, came in the second quarter. Last week, Messam was also titled Canadian Player of the Month for July.
Great job. Just watching his hits makes my body ache. Sure glad I'm just watching and not the target of his hits. You want to end all streakers, have him lay them out instead of letting security do it........

Elimimian will be sorely missed if he decides to try the NFL next season.

You're probably right Rammer. It's a question of when not if. You can always hope, right ? (Wally speak)

Sadly as good as gone. Wally tried extending him in the off-season with zero progress. Could thrive on special teams down south, as he hits way bigger than his size. Hoping we see him again in Sept. 2012.
