Re: Casey MRI on Right Knee
Wait a sec....can we please give up on the 'Wally let too many vets go' ?? Everybody he let go except MAYBE Jiminez deserved to be shipped out....look, Floyd and Knowlton are not as good as people think they are.....Give me Elimeniam and Henderson any day, they're going to be damn good...Most the people shipped out were on D and good riddance !!

For the record, we didn't release Markeith Knowlton. He was traded to Hamilton for the #9 OVERALL pick in the 2008 draft. The pick turned out to be Rolly Lumbala which you can debate the wisdom of, but it's not like Wally just decided to cut him.
In fact, there aren't many players that Wally's cut in the last few years that I'd still want playing here. Turns out Otis Floyd had a good year last year and we could have used him but, at 33 years old, Hamilton will need to replace him sooner rather than later. I can only think of Jamall Johnson as a player that I'd like back, but keep in mind, we didn't cut him either. He went for an NFL tryout with Tampa Bay, was released, and was SIGNED by Hamilton.
Mind you, I don't think we tried too hard to sign him, but it's not like we just cut him or elected not to re-sign like Clermont, Bates, Ty Williams, Dickenson, Glatt (**insert the name of your favourite Lion player from the 2006 Grey Cup here**).

Re: Casey MRI on Right Knee
Sekeres doing his show from Lions practice today (this is great with play-by-play included LOL). Casey not taking any reps so look for Lulay and J-Jack getting the call in TO.
Re: Casey MRI on Right Knee
Very similar to my version, although I understand that LU did offer the quote from Printers wanting to play but getting shut down. Still Sekeres was all over the CP watch, and I have to say that I enjoyed that a TEAM 1040 host took up location at the Lions practice and was discussing the Lion's week of preparation.SammyGreene wrote:Sekeres doing his show from Lions practice today (this is great with play-by-play included LOL). Entertainment value = an all time low
Re: Casey MRI on Right Knee
It's the first time I've heard a play-by-play broadcast of a practice. Jackson taking first-team reps against scout team, Lulay taking first-team reps, Casey has left the field, Casey has returned to the field and is holding his helmet. Sekeres made it sound dramatic.Rammer wrote:Very similar to my version, although I understand that LU did offer the quote from Printers wanting to play but getting shut down. I wish I had heard it. Gotta give Sekeres credit. He has talent. And he has the chutzpah to even try broadcasting from a football practice.
Standing there watching the drills and reps was not as interesting it seems as Sekeres made it all sound.
"Oh wow. That was a great punt by Whyte. Beautiful spiral." LOL
"The D is doing a walk through now. Kinda slow, just gently bumping into the O Line. They mill around. They go back to their own side. Stubler yells at someone."
"Jarious shows some good touch on a short dump off pass to a back."
"Casey's back. All eyes on him as he walks over to the O group. He seems to be favouring his knee."
Riveting stuff.
That's me, making this up.
Ha ha.
Good for Sekeres. I like it.
