At least it was the Tiger-Cats who dealt with this unruly fan, and the Lions did not have to babysit the visiting stadium.

I realize the city's in the economic dumpster, but come on. Seeing all the empty seats looked very bad on the franchise.
The Stamps only had 31,000 on hand. That has got to be a disappointment considering that the weather was beautiful. The crowd was also subdued for most the game. I was making more noise than my Stamps' friends.

Same happened here in 2005 — one might suppose that some Stamp fans were deferring attendance until "the real event", i.e., the Grey Cup game.
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

Considering they averaged 22.5k through the regular season (only 21.5k if you throw out the Labour Day crowd of nearly 30.3k), a playoff crowd nearly 22% larger doesn't seem so bad.

That was nice to see those idiots getting decked by Ticat players . Players should do that more often .

Quite often playoff games are the poorest attended games of the season in some markets for a number of reasons. Weather can be a huge factor when coupled with the fact there are no blackouts on playoff games. While it sounds like it was an unseasonably decent day in the Hammer on Sunday weather uncertainty leading up to the game can make the more casual fan opt for the warmth of their living rooms or favourite watering hole. Often the semi-final host team and their fan base doesn't even know if they will have a playoff game until the final gun sounds on the final game of the regular season leaving them one week to promote and sell tickets. In the case of Hamilton they didn't know if they'd have a game until last Saturday. They also have a small season ticket base. So selling 27430 ducats in a week isn't all that bad. Hamilton's playoff game was it's second largest crowd of the season outside of the LD Classic against the Argos and nearly 3000 bigger than their previously 2nd largest crowd. Conversely the Stampeders had their smallest crowd of the season in a Battle of Alberta.

Or is it Casey Printers who is taunting the fans?

My son and me with the orange sign are the only ones cheering Casey in this picture. Great game. Go Lions.

Stupid thread.

Glad to see that most of the responses set Area 51 straight. People in glass houses shouldn't be throwing any rocks.

The NFL flags and fines players for excessive celebration on the field. Commissioner Roger Goodell just sent a very clear message that the league’s owners aren’t above those same rules.

The NFL fined Titans owner Bud Adams $250,000 on Monday for making obscene hand gestures at Buffalo fans while celebrating Tennessee’s 41-17 win over the Bills. Adams was seen making the gesture both from his luxury suite and again on the field at the end of the game Sunday.

Sounds like given the opportunity you'd prefer to be part of the problem rather than part of the solution???
