I've always said that if you can't get one yard on third down, you don't deserve to win, especially in a league that lines up one yard off the ball. That said, you at least need to open up the playbook often enough to keep teams honest about what you are willing to do at that down and distance and that hasn't been done.cromartie

If you can't get a foot, like we didn't against the Eskimos.....you not only don't deserve to win...you should be embarassed...and we've been embarassed so many times in this area of football over the past two seasons..

Except that when Trestin George was playing we were winning and all Glover did was get lit up in 2 lossesWe pined Lavar Glover for almost the entire season when he is obviously a better corner than George.

Guys on TSN said the team was hit hard by the flu bug, I wonder if that had any bearing on how poorly they played

If that is true then no doubt was the major reason for that score; and I'll give the team some latitude on that. I recall the last time I had the flu a few years ago I wasn't even walking outside let alone play sports.Rodu wrote:Guys on TSN said the team was hit hard by the flu bug, I wonder if that had any bearing on how poorly they played

Wally said in the paper today that he had a gut feeling that the game would be lost. Between the flu, and a few other things, the team just seemed to be very tired.

Wally is tired and so are his assistant coaches....they are tired mentally and they're scheme is tiring...and the excuses are tiring...and always blaming the players or something else for losses is getting very tiring.

The coaching / strategy/ formations / chess-match aspect of football sure is lost a lot of the times now in the CFL in favor of same old standard look stuff.
