The Riders made a good play at the end to blitz Printers and leave the safety free. Printers misread it and threw the ball into coverage. The outcome had nothing to do with the officials. I wouldn't even blame Printers, who played well for someone who had been out of football all year. I just hope the Lions don't have a letdown now that their hopes for a home playoff game are slipping away.
If the Lions win their final two games, they still have a good chance at a home playoff game. In fact, all they would need at that point is a Saskatchewan victory over Calgary. I am sure that Wally will be emphasizing this week that a playoff spot still has to be clinched.
Nope, we're three points back of both Ssk and Cgy so the Nov 7 Ssk/Cgy game would have to end in tie just like they did last week. Otherwise one of them will be at least five points up on us and we won't be able to catch whoever that is with only two games left, regardless of what else happens.

If that game doesn't end in a tie we are eliminated from 1st no matter what else happens, but we may already be relegated to no better than third, never mind first or second by the time that game rolls around.

Edit: sorry, I just re-read what you wrote, at first I thought you said we still have a good chance at first. I stand corrected.
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

BTW, everyone is talking Higgins here. They mentioned he was in Regina for the game tonight. Ireland was in the booth in Toronto. He's always loved BC so much .... ooops not!

It was a great game, but the officiating was overly horrible. I almost get the feeling they are scared of the Rider FANS after the debacle last week. Even after the call last week was upheld and justified the fans were out for blood. I was afraid due to that, the calls this week would favour Saskatchewan .... just never thought it could be by that much.

Even more of a blatant missed call was the block in the back on punt coverage....how much clearer can it be than when the first guy downfield suddenly goes headfirst into the turf just as he's closing in on the returner?

Was he shoved in the back or by the side?

I think the Lion player attempted to embellish the call, but had it been on the other way, I would have been upset if it was called. We were missing Arakgi on the large side this game.

Sour grapes. The Lions beat the ALs because of a ref error. There were probably plenty of calls that could have gone against the Lions that didn't. Fans only notice what didn't get called in their favor.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought it was terrible officiating. My wife just told me I was being a sore loser. :dizzy:

I though so too at first, but Geroy was grabbing just as much as Morgan. Good no call.

How about that late hit on Printers by John Chick ? No wonder our quarterbacks are injured. Take your free shots at our quarterbacks.

Pretty bad when even Suitor notices Chick being late. 13 th man for Sask in this one was wearing stripes.

If I was a Lions fan I would agree with you on the last play being PI on Geroy however my take on the situation.

After last weeks OT game I suspect that the Refs were told in OT "DO NOT DECIDE THE OUTCOME OF THE GAME" The ball that Printers threw was directly to Patrick not Geroy that is the reason for no flag.

Agreed I was at the game and our entire section groaned thinking it was gonna be called back. That was a brutal missed call.

What a disgrace and embarrassment. Worst officiating since Super Bowl
40 when Seattle was screwed. This is exactly why the CFL is so bush
league with these weekend warriors officials. Real classy by the
Riders fans throwing stuff at Miles. That's apparently not even
worthy of a penalty either.
Oh whine whine whine!!! You lost suck it up..

WHat about the clip on the return? Or the BC Oline holding holding and holding!!! I counted holding at least 20 times!
