Sometimes I think we as Canadians are a wee bit thin-skinned. We seem to take anything that doesn't glowingly extol the virtues of something like Canadian football to be a slight on Canadian football. We can be like Bob and Doug McKenzie versions of Rev. Jesse Jackson. Hey hoser! That hoser doesn't eat back bacon, drink Molson's or wear a tuque. He must be anti-Canadian.

Yeah - seems that way some of the times; however - Canadian football fans have been exposed to decades of dis-respect/ignorance/lack of good news, particluarly from media types up here, or wannabes putting down our game; not surprising IMO, that some get bent out of shape easily by perceived dissing of the CFL or Canadian football in general.
I don't think Ayanbadejo's comments should be taken as a put -down of the CFL - he didn't say the game or players up here sucked or anything like that. And the volume of positive comments from Doug, Flutie, Warren Moon, Jeff Garcia, Nick Harper types, to name a few - guys who have played in both leagues - that demonstrate respect for the CFL, should be a good testament to the quality of football up here and could be used to sooth those who see a lack of respect, plus shut-up the clueless wannabes who like to put-down the CFL or Canadian ball.
