Personally I think this week Murphy will be awesome. Something tells me - he will do everything in his power to protect the QB

Just have a feeling this is the week Murphy really returns
Believe me MB, I have NO PROBLEM eating crow on this one if you prove to be right!!!

And here's to Buck finally getting his start. Hope he approaches the game calmly and doesn't try to make it all happen at once.

This is his chance to take this team by the scruff of the neck and LEAD. Maybe the D will pick up on it and away we go!!

Let us pray. Last week, the Montreal defensive line played perhaps the best game (as a unit) that I have seen in some time. They were absolutely relentless and made mince meat of the Argo offensive line.

Let's hope that if Buck does start that we give him plenty of play action, and that we move the pocket around so he's not just standing in the pocket awaiting an open receiver. We really have to protect his shoulder at all costs. You can bet the Als are going to try to go after him.

One thing I love about Buck is his improv skills; finding an open receiver on the run or when the pocket collapses around him. If he can just learn the throw the ball away when the play just isn't there, he'll be just fine. :beauty: Oh, and I know it's not in Buck's nature to compromise his toughness and athleticism out on the field, but if he can just start to HOOK SLIDE when he takes off, we'll all breathe a little easier. :cr:

I don't think it's in Buck's nature to hook slide or throw the ball into the stands to avoid a hit. Never seen him do it yet. Is Jarius so banged up he can't play or can he backup, or would Zac be put in?

It's hard to say. Right now, Jarious's finger is still swollen, although he can bend it. By Friday, I would expect him to be able to relieve Buck should Buck get hurt. But with a taped finger, it will definitely affect his grip on the ball.

My point about the hook slide was more just that we need two strong, healthy quarterbacks down the stretch.

I heard the Jarious was throwing the ball today, so I expect that he would be the backup Friday. I don't know how effective he could be, though. I dislocated a finger on my right hand 11 months ago and I still don't have fuoll movement. I can't hold a football without pain.

With all due respect, Jarious is probably getting more and better therapy every day at Surrey than you or I would get from the local clinic for such an injury. I once had a dandy of an ankle sprain and was lucky to get a one hour session every two weeks. Hopefully that was the last time I need it!

That's not to say he's fully recovered or even close, but taking into account that pro athletes are generally in better shape than the rest of us, with higher pain thresholds and more regular therapy, I'd be surprised if he took 11 months to get over this, notwithstanding subsequent re-aggravations. When Damon Allen seriously injured his leg a year or two ago, what stood out to me was the fact that he was already nonchalantly crutching around by halftime. My ankle sprain was nowhere near as bad and I was resting on the couch for a few hours!

Good luck recovering from your own malady... some injuries are such that once they happen, it never heals back the same way again (knees can go that way); hopefully that's not the case for you or Jarious!
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

While you may not get the treatment that Jackson is getting, these things do take time as you note. You can't get this better in one week no matter who is treating you. These guys play injured and the issue for a QB is gripping the ball and how it changes the velocity of their throw and also their accuracy. That is always a problem with a finger injury on the throwing hand.

I agree with Wakesbetterthanyou finally. Yes, Me n Ed's pizza is far better than Boston Pizza!!!!!!!!
Which one you working at Wakes?

On topic, Buck I am sure is being told to avoid the big hits that don't need to be taken. His first game the big hits on the old injury were from poor blocking which should be fixed now.

actually many years ago, well, like 8, i worked at bp here in abby, we havent had a me n eds since i was like 10. but they are comming back soon so that should be bad for my diet lol. Only prob with me n eds is that its not that great reheated, maybe u have to use the oven, but the microwaved version is pretty nasty. That and both places are pretty pricey, but worth it imo
