I sat in stunned silence as the final minutes ticked away, suddenly realizing there'd be no miracle finishes this time. I walked to my parking spot with a terrible sinking feeling and drove away into the early evening throughly disappointed by what happened and what could have been. I'm still feeling down about the loss.

But if any players are reading this right now, I want you to know how proud I am of you, how well you battled through adversity - all the negative crap from other teams about being dirty, all the key injuries early in the season etc. You overcame it all and did the whole province proud by taking us where no other B.C. Lions team had been before during a regular season: 14-3-1. That was awesome!

Although the final result wasn't what we expected, we have every reason to feel optimistic about next season and can hold our heads up high tomorrow wearing the black and orange.

Thanks guys!

:whs: The team played hard, provided outstanding entertainment, and showed great character and camaraderie all season despite having a lot of crap thrown at them. You can't win them all but you can come back pumped to try again next year. I'll be there to offer support.

Great post, David, and I completely agree with you. I've never felt more proud to call myself a Lions fan than this season. All the things they had to fight through this year and to set a franchise record for wins despite that is a true testament to how good this team really is. You can't win every year and we'll still be favorites next season. Congratulations you guys on a terrific year, try to enjoy the off-season and we all look forward to seeing you take the field next season on the way to challenging for another Grey Cup. :rockin:

Even in life you don't win everytime but, you only lose if you quit. So I'll lay down a bit, bleed a little, tend my wounds, reflect on the glory won in days gone past, but, will rise gain, renewed, refocussed, and face the enemy anew!
We will be there!!!!

I echo what everyone else is saying. Yesterday was not what I expected, nor wanted, but this organization has provided me with loads of entertainment this year. Also, kudos to Rider fans on your graceful win. I almost called in sick to work today (just kidding). Everyone has been very complimentary and kind to me in my hour of need! On a more positive note, next weekend will be much easier on the heart! Looking forward to a good game. Just wish Glenn were able to play as well.

It was another entertaining year, though not the finale we wanted.

Yeah, it's kind of disheartening to think that it's over....no more tailgates w/excellent people, no more screaming and cheering for another year.

That being said, it was a great season. We had TONS of fun this year and can't wait until next year.
Yesterday's result aside, this is truly a great time to be a Lions fan!!
The organization is first class through and through.
They deserve our thanks and congratulations on a record breaking season.

To David Braley, Bobby Ackles, Wally Buono, all the coaching / training and office staff, and especially the players.... I say well done!!
Can't wait for '08 !!

I always start to get more impatient in January after we've gotten past Christmas and New Year's.
Kids count days until Christmas, football fans count days to TC!

I know we have had the best regular season ever for our BC Lions. But we didn't win a Grey Cup. I think fans in this province need to start expecting more from there teams besides great regular seasons. I am not happy with the season, why? Because they didn't win the Grey Cup. I love this team to death. But they didn't get the job done. The Lions were the class of the league this year, they didn't get it done when they should have. So I don't think anyone can call this season a success just based on regular season play, regular seasons don't matter, Grey Cups do. I just think we should start expecting more from our sports teams. But hey, life goes on. I know no ones happy with the result, but to say it was a successful season is wrong.
