The Mods here are great and only interfere when needed. You should have no worries of being banned here, this isn't riderfans.
In general they are, but I was confronted about the DD/Fred Perry comments I made and was warned that my trolling was being watched (I was warned through an associate board 13thman about my post here). So I leave it at this. I don't think the fines to the Rider team, Tillman and austin were justified in this case they merely asked for an explanation as to why the players were ejected, Wally questioned the Perry hit that much as well.

MAM and Jones deserved fines for the after the ejection activities, but did nothing to warrant ejection in the first place, the incident is far different from the happenings between the Leos and the Riders. McCullough being tossed is just baffling, now every o-lineman that lays on a down player has to be ejected to remain consistient (and that happens every play almost).

The incident is done and correct or not the league has now set a precedent for what needs to be ejectable, if they are consistent in future treatments of similar episodes it is all I can ask for. If they aren't well it won't be a suprise.
I am positive that you haven't been brought up on our radar, Wildthing. Posts like telling us that we are drinking orange kool aid, or that our team is cocky and such after a couple of posts are going to have trouble. Personally I enjoy a logical or fun debate from an opposition teams fanbase.

Wildthing on the banning radar???

I can assure you as a mod, your name hasn't even been brought up for anything. At least nothing I've read.

We've disagreed bout a few things, but nothing to the point where I would even think you are even close to the edge.

I think since I've been on this site (which is since it's inception) there have only been a very few bannings. In fact I can only think of about 4 significant ones. And I beleive most of those were our own Lions fans!! 8)

If you ever crossedthe line you would most certainly get a few warnings before anything was done. I think you are respected enough on this site by its mods and many of its members that you would get the courtesy of a few PM's before anything drastic would be done.
Now that I don't live in Quesnel do I need to change my handle??

Why was the "Lions Overrated" thread locked?

I feel it must be reopened.

I seriously doubt there fines were for asking for an explanation but more likely the comments surrounding it.

So that may warrant and I stress may, a fine for Tillman. Wally said similar things when Perry wasn't fined or suspended for what he felt was an illegal play. Eric had some edge on the comment but he was pissed as nothing supported the decision on the field.

here are Austin's comments:
"If they can not come up with a reasonable explanation then in my opinion they need to apologize publicly for ejecting our players," Austin said on Tuesday, "Because as we watched the film and I witnessed it firsthand, our players did nothing wrong. And did nothing to merit ejection from the game."

"I did receive an email from the head of officiating, George Black, as a response to our inquiry as to why two guys got ejected. He said that in the case of our linemen, that they got ejected for 'piling on' and Mike McCullough got ejected for pinning his man down on the turf."

"I'm not going to make a comment on it. You people can take those explanations and judge them for themselves. I'm not going to comment on his explanation. We asked for an explanation and he gave it to us. Whether I agree with it or not ... believe me I have voiced my opinion in the strongest of terms with the league over the past three days."

Do you still want an apology?

"Not if they don't feel the referees were wrong. I can't ask for an apology if they don't agree the ejections were unwarranted. It is what it is and we move on."

I would agree as I haven't seen any thing that Austin said that warranted a $2500 fine, but like the disqualifications there may be something we didn't see.

I've got to think the amount of the fine may have had something to do with the fact that this is the second time that Mr. Tillman has gone off in a very short span of time. He obviously didn't get the message the first time. If he has issues with the league, he should be talking to the league, not pandering to the media. In the short term, it may help sell himself to the Rider faithful but what good is that gonna do him when he really wants to get some point across to the league or other GM's. If he keeps this up, he is going to damage his credibilty with all of them and they will dismiss him out of hand as that guy who runs his mouth. By the same token, how effective are any trade talks with Wally Buono going to be in future after his little gyser routine?

He hasn't yet learned this. He hadn't in Ottawa either.

But it makes the fans in Regina love him. So he can't trade even with a GM he has pissed off, but the faithful love it when he speaks to the media.

Pretty fair swap, if you're a fan of another team.

If you're asking me to comment on the fact that the same referee that officiated the BC/Saskatchewan game that threw no one out and threw three guys out of the Hamilton/Saskatchewan game in which the film in our opinion clearly shows that there should've been no ejections -- if you're asking me to comment on that, you know that I can't.
Tillman: in his no-comment comment on the refereeing ...
... the same referee that officiated the BC/Saskatchewan game that threw no one out ...
the same referee ... threw three guys out of the Hamilton/Saskatchewan game
He is accusing the referee of being inconsistent, at least, or biased, at worst.
in which the film in our opinion clearly shows that there should've been no ejections
He is criticizing the decision of the referees, although the clever way he has packaged it and presented it let Tillman think he could get away with it.

The league can parse words and translate legal obfuscation as well or better than Tillman. Ergo, another fine for the Little Red-Haired Pissant.

Question, is the league there to "serve" the teams, or control the teams and their public behaviour?

Tillman has been handed the purrfect tool to make Rider fans forget about Shivers and Barrett.

He's making full use of that tool to ingratiate himself and Austin with the Rider faithful.

Nothing more, nothing less.
