William Houston in the Globe reports today that globemedia (CTV/TSN) might snatch up all CFL rights, freezing out CBC.
If this means no more Walby, I will be okay.

Many of us don't mind Walby.Tighthead wrote:If this means no more Walby, I will be okay.
That would mean the end of Walby's Warriors, one of the highlights of Grey Cup week.
Someone will pick Walby up.
Too bad Leif and Rod Black couldn't be axed. Worst crew on TV.
What concerns me is not the way things are, but rather the way people think things are - Epictetus
Sure why not, he did sevearl shades of it while he was on the sidelines, getting the shortend of a call or two.KnowItAll wrote:can you see mathews doing color
Realistically he is too old to give colour, but may be brought in for analysis at a halftime show. But he would then become a part of the media, a faction that he loathed, and they began to loathe right back.
Entertainment value = an all time low

I'm all for it if it means no more Steve Armitage.

Carl Kidd and Roy Shivers. Make them a crew. I bet the commentary would be hilarious.
Tell me how long must a fan be strong? Ans. Always.
Here's the issue that no one here may care about, but I'm sure it has Wettenhall's attention.
Moving all of the games to CTV/TSN means a complete loss of American TV exposure beyond what miniscule contracts they currently negotiate. The CBC can be seen in most border cities, including Detroit, Toledo, Seattle, Buffalo, etc. etc., while CTV isn't carried on any of the cable systems in those markets.
And while Armitage and pretty much the entire CBC crew with a few notable exceptions should be put in a spaceship with a limited oxygen supply and sent careening off into the ether, this loss of exposure has to be an issue with those who have half an eye toward increasing, however tangentially, American eyes.
On the plus side, the quality of the broadcasts would definitely improve.

Lancaster was a top notch analyst before he turned to coaching.
