The way Leone and Fera defined themselves during the 2015 training camp was that Leone was a punter who also place-kicked and Fera was a place-kicker who also punted.Lionsfan65 wrote:I wouldn't mind having Fera back. An idea to kick around?

Fera averaged almost 3 yds a punt less than Leone but was good on 16 of 20 FGAs (80%). Leone had a FG average a shade under 70%. So the numbers certainly back that up.Hambone wrote:The way Leone and Fera defined themselves during the 2015 training camp was that Leone was a punter who also place-kicked and Fera was a place-kicker who also punted.Lionsfan65 wrote:I wouldn't mind having Fera back. Fera's numbers were pretty solid in limited appearances last year. I guess one thing I am concerned about is Wally may elect to use Rainey less often on offense if he feels he needs save him for punt returns in order to make up for field position lost (or lessened) with Fera's non-Leone type leg.
Edit: By the way of a curiosity...if Fera should return to the Leo's, I guess we can't expect to see his father getting into Canada to watch his son play anytime soon. At least not based on his behaviour as per this article.....http://www.dallasnews.com/news/crime/20 ... rom-dallas

Good call, Qman! Waters signed a one-year deal. I guess at 29 years of age he thinks he still has a shot at the NFL.Qman wrote:i think wally is leaning towards swayze waters, who was the one of the best kicker/punters in league until he went to nfl. biggest issue is he a INT and takes a DI spot away
And I'm pretty sure Wally will forgive his INT status because he can handle all three (punt, place, and kick-off) kicking tasks.

I was looking back on that one game in 2015. Fera was outstanding punting with 49.5 ave on 6 punts but was good on only 2 of 4 FGs. He was good from 44 & 49 and missed from 44 & 31.Lionsfan65 wrote:I wouldn't mind having Fera back. He played pretty well in the one game in 2015.
