This has me scratching my head. Figured he would stick around with the release of J. Hardrick. I guess Hunter Steward has the inside edge on a tackle spot.

Sad to see Tim Brown go; I always liked him. Always a huge grin and never said anything negative about his role and how unsettled it was. Never really got why people would rag on his ability to return the ball. He was a consistent north-south runner who held onto the ball and got positive yards. I am assuming one of Tedford's recent signings will take over return duties.

With Poblah out, I wonder where that leaves Adekolu? Hope he gets a decent crack at the roster during training camp.

Anyone got an idea why Tunei was let go? I understood his presence made Ernest Jackson expendable.

I don't think Steward has an inside edge on the tackle spot. I think he has a lock on it. I imagine what that gets down to is liking a couple of the INT prospects more. Younger, cheaper and hopefully healthier. Ramsey spent almost all of his 2 seasons with BC on the injured list.

Thanks to Tim Brown for his contributions to our Leos. He was a gamer but at 30 years old for a role as mainly a return specialist the trend is to go young at this position.

My hope, when it comes to special teams, is that Tedford gets very involved. McMann is still here, which is shocking enough, but he will also be coaching running backs as well in 2015 as well as his expanded role in the CFL draft. We tossed aside Kelly Bates and kept McMann but it will take the leadership of Tedford in order for our special teams to take the next step up that we need.

With all the new players on the roster, you definitely need to buy a program this year.

Lions program is to dismantle without backup. This may to be the way to go forward, but it is taking away any safety nets.

The Lions were impressed with an OL by the name of Scott at the last FA camp........we'll probably hear of his signing tomorrow.

I was never impressed by Ramsay......simply a better option at OT than Dean Valli......but that's it.

Therein is a risk factor for the team. If they become unidentifiable for fans and struggle to get wins - that spells trouble.

However if you only have to sell 30,000 tickets to sell out - it is less of an issue.

I will never forget all star Paul Bennett's father in an interview saying he and his long time ST pals knew who the players were as the rosters were changing every year and they no longer knew who they were cheering for. That was the Argos he was speaking of - and that IIRC was the 80s. They've never recovered since those days - at the gate at least.

My head was spinning after listening to LU on Scott Rintoul's show last night. He suggested the Lions could start just 2 Nationals, both at the guards spot. Ummm what????

Starts around the 8 minute mark. Rintoul also said a 1 hour Tedford coaching show will debut next week.

I think we have released about 15 players now from last year's roster.

The way our Leos finished last season, some of the team 'culture' problems, and our lack of offensive production necessitated some serious roster changes.

Key players who have played well for us are returning but there will also be a lot of new additions this season as it should be.

Good to hear about a stud OL and while I do agree on Ramsey not being at the level you want an I OL to be at, the subtraction of numbers on both sides of the OL and DL are extremely high. While Hunter Steward seems to be a beast, he hasn't played enough to gauge his true ability and he certainly hasn't passed the china test. New guys have a learning curve and I am not sure that Lulay can afford to have many mistakes if any by the OL.

I had to listen to that part about starting only 2 NATs on the Oline 2 times. Playing INTs at tackle and centre and only NATs at guard????? Does LU think that Tedford didn't look at the tape on Hunter Steward at tackle? To me, what I saw of Steward was that he had great footwork and thus a great ability to keep himself between his QB and the D man in front of him.

In any event, if the Lions are going to just play 2 NATs on the Oline it should be Steward and Fabien. They then start Westerman and a NAT at safety, Harris at RB and Gore and Collie at receiver. It could work.

If the Lions had any intention of starting two NATs on the O-line, Jermarcus Hardrick and Andre Ramsey would still be here. They were the best of the INT incumbents after Olafioye. I believe they left because they saw that Olafioye was the only INT starter pencilled in on the line, leaving no room for them on the game-day roster.

Sure hope you are right BC FAN. That seemed to be the conclusion coming out of the mini-camp but personnel decisions seem to be coming fast and furious right now. LU mentioned an international at centre which makes some sense given Norman's struggles and the importance of protecting Lulay. But Steward certainly has to be considered a starting tackle. The Lions did seem enamoured with an o-lineman at the Seattle tryout.

There was a reference recently that Estes would be looked at to possibly start at centre.

Hardrick and Ramsay did not leave on their own accord. They were cut.
