Wow, I can't believe I am beating Robbie to this, but here is a cool vid of tonight's ring ceremony at the River Rock Casino. I believe everyone opened theirs at the same time, like it was Christmas morning (hence the noise and excitment in the background).

Those baubles are apparently worth $30,000 each. According to Global, David Braley bought 75 of them. I see Korey Banks is in mid season form.

Thank you David...the guys were going crazy after they opened up the boxes...fun to see.

Don't know for sure, but this could place these rings as the most expensive Grey Cup rings ever. Ones I've read about in the past have been in the $18K - $20K range.

Let's see:

First Place Standing (Bye) $3,400
Division Championship Participation $3,600
Grey Cup Winner $16,000

That's $53,000 in cash and prizes for each player. Not a bad haul for a couple of weeks' work!

I watched the players' reactions through Twitter comments and pictures, as well as this video. They were all like kids on Christmas morning. It's a great way to cap a season and start a new one.

The players also each got a framed memorabilia collection, including their jersey and pictures of the team, stadium, Grey Cup celebration and the ring.

ok that was as blurry as can be. thankfully the lions website has a pic of Lulay's ring showing it's 3 sides. The lion's head gets a bit lost in all the diamonds.
Grey Cup 103. Graduation day.

Yes, you did.

So it looks like the design did indeed acknowledge the previous five championships by including six Grey Cups on one side.

That looks like the biggest ring Lions GC ring ever, and perhaps contains the most amount of diamonds.

There's no mention whether the staff members and the Felions received versions of that ring, like in 2006.

Interesting that there's no mention of winnipeg or the grey cup score you see on most rings. it's pure bc everywhere. no contamination.

Right.

So....how does the 2011 ring compare to the five previous rings?

You're the Felions expert here  but I know staff members all got smaller rings, as in 2006.

They're all pretty IMO but having the Grey Cup in its full shape on the front and the new stadium on its side makes it the prettiest.

Did you notice the size of Marsh's watch? It looks like he mugged Flavor Flav and is using his medallion for a wrist watch!

That's what I thought too B.C.FAN, but then I saw this picture of Cartmell's ring (their communications director) and, unless he's got tiny fingers, it looks to be the same one as the players received.

Awesome rings.

Luv the Paw.

At $30,000 a pop, 75 rings, that makes about $2.25 million dollars. Is there not some money from the league to go along with the purchase by the team owner? Wow. Quite the bauble to remember by.
