Re: New BC Lions Jersey for 2016

The new outfits grew on me and certainly look better with the matching helmets. Now if they could only find gear for the coaches that uses the same updated colours and logo. :dizzy: havent changed the logo ... the chess piece is just a kinda homage to michigan panthers (most popular uni in the USFL...

Re: Cuts announced.

Neither Guy nor Ese have shown up on the Rider roster list or on the CFL transactions list as of yet. Perhaps just a matter of time as the Riders start off the season with a bye, but curious that confirmation of their status is still up in the air. They're gone. So long. I'm giving them not another...

Re: 2016 All Things Lions Marketing & Promotions

* The flags that those young guys charge around the field with have changed. They now come out of the tunnel with the regular logo, the lion astride a football (50s and 60s), and the new chess piece (or polar bear) logo which hasn't grown on me one millimeter since its intro. DH  Are they big...

Re: 2016 All Things Lions Marketing & Promotions

It appears that the 3-year deal with Coast Capital Savings as a premier partner has expired (2013-2015) and has not been renewed. The good news is that it's one less jersey patch. :roar: DH  Oh thank Zeus. That thing looked dreadful. Now if I could ever figure out what it is CP is selling tha...

I guess things have changed at UBC since my day. At that time the "rape culture and depression" usually revolved around the cost of curriculum textbooks at the UBC bookstore.

Re: Uniform Poll Question - Reebok or Adidas?

So, if last night's helmets--which were a different shade of orange from the jerseys--are intended to match the other jerseys, am I correct in understanding that the home and away jerseys have a slightly different shade of orange? I've never heard of a team doing anything like this before. Makes no...

Re: 2016 Training Camp Thread

The depth chart still has Fraser listed as wearing #37 (his # last season) but I understood with the retirement of Hawkins, his #7 came available so Fraser may have claimed his old # back (he wore 7 with the Stamps..and with the Rouge et Noir as well, I think). Just an FYI.

Re: A New Podcast for Lions fans!

How is it a "joke' exactly? This is the kind of drivel I often see/hear from Lower Mainland 30something a$$hats who think they're just too cool for school. Knowledgeable football people, be they players who have worked in both leagues, NFL execs, journalists like Peter King and Jenny Vrentas ce...

Re: 2016 Training Camp Thread

Estimates of his punts one day last week, though aided mightily by a prairie-style headwind, were upwards of 70 yards.
Not to nitpick LU too much, but I think that might be a tailwind. A headwind would knock the kick down.

Re: 2016 CFL Thread

It seemed like a big drop off in QB play for the Als once Kevin Glenn was out of the game. Agree with this. The Bombers have some nice receiving talent and I was impressed with Flanders' effort at RB after Harris was on the sidelines. The Bombers' players looked very loose and relaxed. Maybe the ad...

Re: 2016 CFL Thread

On first impressions Vernon Adams, Lions may have stolen the Als first pick. He showed his height disadvantage on the INT, having the ball tipped at the LOS. More passes were off the mark or tipped. As for the game, Montreal looked like they have some work to do still. I thought he had an astoundin...
